Never. As they say " If you don't like Melbourne weather. Wait a minute".

Sounds like winter will end tomorrow then mid 20s for the rest of the week. So many opportunities to make sawdust.

The Antarctic conditions have passed so back to work on the Tele.

I've decided on a change in the control layout. The switch will now be on the lower bout with the vol and tone controls. I think this looks ok and will make the instalation and wiring of the switch and pots easier, here's what it should look like.

I've drilled the neck mount holes in the body, now to fit the neck and trem/bridge and check alignment.

As it is a nice day I laid out some templates for fututre projects. I'd like to have a go at building a jet/roundup and a LP junior.

Beautiful autumn day today - low 20s not a cloud in the sky - perfect Melbourne day.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm liking the control layout.

Just drilled the holes in the neck. nerve wracking, but all seems good. The string alignment's good. Now to drill the holes for the bridge posts.

Hi Darko, The neck pocket is flat. If need be I can shim it. I'm hoping I won't need to.

Had a good day today. Drilled the holes for the bridge and neck. Fitted the neck and trem and stringed it up. String alignment is good. Accostically it sounds good

Looks like a guitar now.

And from the back

And a shot with the trem arm in place.

Here's close ups of the front and back of the body. The grain should come up very nicely with danish oil

Tomorrow I'll drill the holes for the switch and pots and output jack - then sand, sand, sand. I'm hoping to get the first coat of Danish oil on tomorrow.

Oh well i think i might go play it for a while longer. it sounds quite bright and woody. I'm using an old set of strings that came off my mate's Chinese White Falcon knock off. If it sounds Ok with those strings it should be very nice when finished. :

Thanks - its come up nicely. I should definitely have it finished before i go back to work.

A thinline with TVJs would be cool. I have thought about doing one with filtertrons

Another Idea i've been toying with is a Thinline Tele with two horns (double cut). I've played around in Corel Draw and it looks a bit Es335 ish. I've got some GFS memphis pickups i want to put in it.

Yeah..that'll be cool too....i'll love one as a double f hole with bigsby [chet arm] striped maple top/swamp ash body- 10'' quartersawn maple neck..in nitro ..silver trim..double bound sides/f holes bound ...Gretsch style block inlays..in either Caddy Green or Gretsch orange.. & bone binding..colour coded striped maple veneer on head stock & back of neck to match body colour as well..TV Supertrons neck/bridge

This is very rough, but it's what I'm thinking of doing. With humbuckers and either a tele bridge or TOM with stop tailpiece.

COOL... A B5 bigsby with rear slotted half tele bridge/compensated brass saddles would look good as well...shimming the neck a distinct possibility though...l like a really tight neck pocket/no shim...another option is a half Tele bridge with compensated brass [adjustable][love it]...l dont mind your original idea as well...looks balanced/cool chic...suits the build too with your knob layout...impressive!!!!

Thanks. It looks better in Daylight. I might take a photo outside before I dissasemble it tomorrow.

i am tempted to put in one of the pups and wire to an output jack to hear how it sounds amplified.

Is that so? Would that bridge work with the Bigsby, without an angled neck?
Is it to much to ask if you can maesure how high is the bridge?
