Cant believe i missed this when it first posted. I am just starting to put one and one together regarding peerless. I have seen their Peerless brand that they sell now, but I am discovering that they made quality guitars for others. In the past i would not have purchased an Epiphone, but this has made me reconsider, How are those 12's? I have 11's on my eastman, and can still bend them, been thinking about the 12's, just to give my fingers the workout they need.

Hi, sorry, just spotted your post! I have Swing 11's on the 5120, good rock n roll flats. On the Epi Broadway, which is a large, heavy guitar, I knew it needed the Swing 12's, probably for a variety of reasons. Have no fear, both the 11 flats and 12 flats are indeed bendable, and, I'm no Hercules. That said, it is my understanding that the T-I Swing flats are a bit lighter feeling than other brands of flats, but I haven't any practical experience. In any event, you'll love the way it is completely silent when you slide around the strings, no squeak.

It was a guy in Ventura, can't remember his name. Could it be the same guitar? Do you know the history?

It wouldn't be the same then, unless it was bought & resold really quickly. The one I know has slightly cracked neck binding at each fret. But it's a beautiful player. I would buy it myself if I didn't already have an Emperor Regent, which is essentially the same guitar, but with a floating mini-humbucker instead of the 2 full size humbuckers. Don't really know much specifics about the Emperor/Broadways but the guy I got my Emperor from said he believed it was built in Japan, not Korea. The serial number starts with "R96M ..." & this was said to mean built in 1996. Don't know if that's correct. Beautiful guitar.

The R and year 1996 indicates it is from the desirable Peerless factory-

Current Epiphone serial numbers give the following information

Korea
I = Saein
U = Unsung
S = Samick
P or R = Peerless
K = Korea

China
DW = DeaWon
EA = Gibson/QingDao
EE = Gibson/QingDao
MC = Muse
SJ = SaeJung
Z = Zaozhuang Saehan
BW = China

Japan
No letter or F = FujiGen
J or T = Terada

Czech Republic
B = Bohêmia Musico-Delicia

Indonesia
SI = Samick Indonesia
