Default Fender Telecaster FMT Dooziefied!!!

I replaced good Duncans and bad wiring with:
- V-Caster bridge
- Grand Vintage Domino P90 neck
- 2 vol, 3 way switch, no tone control
- black harware

Important:
This project couldn't be realized without a generous help from Rocking Matt who grabbed a pair of these lovely V-Casters on German eBay for me!
Thank you Matt!

A sound check:

And no reaction from Tele-people at all? That was weird

Hey, I guess I'm tele people.

I think you've made a real doozie there for sure.

Not sure I'm Tele-people... I think the big appeal of a Tele lies in it's simplicity, the bare bones approach. The FMT is a dressed up tele. Like Fender attempted to Les Paulify a Tele with carves and binding. Not a bad thing in itself, but it won't be for everyone. Personally I can't stand the look of those Duesenberg pickupcovers. Other than that, you did a commendable job.

Interesting...I'm a big fan of both teles and gretsches and play both, tho' not at the same time!
I agree with Ricochet in that the appeal of the tele for most lies in its simplicity and the distinctive sound from the single coils. That's why I got my tele - it has sounds that the gretsch doesn't and they complement each other when I'm recording. You've certainly done an amazing job putting your doozified tele together! I'd love to hear what it sounds like with no added effects and with a better recording setup.
Great playing, by the way
cheers,
Alex

Hey Alex, thanks! I know that my playing sucks, but the guitar is good

The Telecaster will always be my No1 and it was not my intention to build the Clasic Tele here.

What I did here was a modification of one realy good guitar and experimenting with the pickups I didn't have chance to hear before.
And I didn't use much time to put it together either, it's a set neck tele, so I just put the new pickups and wiring in place. Piece of cake.

Talking about effects and amp, I didn't use much, just a touch of each:
Nocturne Dyno Brain
T-Rex SpinDoctor
Boss GE-7
Boss DD-3
Boss RV-5
Frenzel FM-5E3 DP3 + 2xG12H Celestion

Cheers,
Darko

Hi Darko...
Understood! I'm not sure if it's wise to say that the tele is number one in this forum
With that said,. I will also admit that I generally reach for my tele first and use the gretsch more for rhythm tracks. Both are great guitars.
My tele is not a 'purist' version either...it's the Nashville Power Deluxe tele and has a huge tonal palette. I'd wanted a strat, but couldn't find one that I really liked enough then I found this telecaster which has the 3 p/u's, 5 way switching and the Fishman power bridge. I can get tele sounds, tele/strat sounds and when the Fishman piezos are blended in, a really lush orchestral sound,,,plus the Fishman can be used on its own. The tele neck just feels better in my hands, such as they are. I'll bet your modified tele is a dream to play too.
I really did like your playing...honest!!!!!
Best,
Alex
