Mostly Yamahas and Washburns, of a certain age:
  • 19?? Washburn EA20-12B black Festival Series 12-string acoustic with piezo bridge pup and active EQ
  • 198? Washburn SBT-21 cream Tele-styled solid body with piezo bridge and active EQ
  • (late 70's?) Washburn A-20CS tobacco-burst Stage Series 6-string electric hard-tail (wierd-looking beast)
  • (late 70's?) Odyssey Custom V natural 'burst, built better than either the Gibson or Epiphone V's (sounds better too!) I have a set of GFS Surf 90s waiting to be installed in this one, to replace the DiMarzio humbuckers.
  • (late 60's?) Yamaha SA-20 sunburst 12-string hollowbody electric
  • 1965 Yamaha SG-2 sunburst 6-string electric with 2 single-coil pups and Jazzmaster-type switching ("The Beater", with many battle scars and other signs of abuse)
  • 1965 Yamaha SG-2 sunburst 6-string electric with 2 single-coil pups and Jazzmaster-type switching ("Peg", more presentable, but also in need of some TLC)
  • 1966 Yamaha SG-3 sunburst 6-string electric with 3 single-coil pups and Jazzmaster-type switching with a balance control for the two bridge pups
  • 1984 Yamaha SBG1000 black double cutaway LP type ("Brand X", with DiMarzio Dual Sound & SCHB pickups (I bought this instead of the Gibson LP I went out to buy that day. For half the money.)
  • 1984 Yamaha SBG1000 black double cutaway LP type ("The Stalker"), with DiMarzio Tone Zone & PAF Pro pickups, my nasty axe)
  • 198? Yamaha SA2100 burgundy semi-hollow 335 type
  • 19?? Yamaha RBX350 walnut 4-string electric bass guitar ("Thumper Thudpucker")

My Gretsh's are special to me. They only come out on rare occasions.
For over 30 years my main thing was Strat's.
1979

2009

Now it's mainly Tele's.

But at tonight's show.... it's THIS!

I own about 42 electric guitars but looking at some of the great guitars in this thread there are still quite a few I still need! When I'm not playing my Gretsch guitars it's usually maple board Strats' and Teles' that I reach for.

Hey Muchos;
Nice Tele collection!
Is that aged white/ yellowish Tele a double-bound 1996 MIJ '62 reissue?
I have the same guitar if so, only i still have the original pearloid pickguard..,
I always found my necksize a little thick for a '62 reissue. Is it the same with yours?

Gretsch 6120-1960
Gibson '74 Les Paul Deluxe
Gibson ES-345
Strat copy I built from parts.

I don't gig with the Les Paul anymore. I bought it new in March of '75 and as I've aged it has gotten heavier. The other 3 go to every gig, but my mood dictates which will see the most action. I might change guitars periodically during the night or I might play the same guitar for whole show.

A GFI Ultra S10 pedal steel.
Cannot afford a Showbud (ie Gretsch pedal steel) which often goes for 20 to 40 K dollars! I do really like this one.

Lots of top end Yamaha acoustics - FG's and LL's (I tend to rescue them from ebay, and sell them on)

Italia Maranello Roadster
Vintage AV6 PRG
Yamaha RBX775 bass

I sold most of my non Gretschs.

I'm considering a telecaster, probably a Fender JA90 with P90's

I guess the trouble is not having a Gretsch, but rather which Gretsch next....
