Tele: Bigsby B2, kind of;)
I like the idea of a Tele with Bigsby, but B5 covering the whole body doesn't realy work for me.
So, I chopped B16 all the way to this. No sharp edges, carefully polished.
Next step will be modifying the bridge...

Sure you can Rich, everybody can. Aluminum is easy to cut/sand/polish.

Neat! How did you form the lip at the end of the B2?

the lip was there, I just cut the ugly part. It's not exactly floating, but there won't be screw holes on the top

My tele is a string thru body. Maybe I could mount one on the back!

Cool idea looks good curious as to how the string angle is going to work out with the Bigsby. Let us know.

Where do you get the tele bodies routed for filtertrons?

I don't see the problem, strings>through body> bigsby> saddles....

At least it won't leave any trace on the top of the body.
I found some pics of the tele with a chopped B16, basicaly the same idea, only that one is little different and it's screwd on the top too...
The strings go thru the back of the bridge - that's not a bad idea.

From US, where else
http://cgi.ebay.com/Tele-Cabronita-R...item35b16ffe47
You can try one of their's Cabronitas if you want, you can get them for much less then priced
I'm waiting for one other luthier who'll start with Cabronitas in walnut and mahogany.

rc, I'm not worried about the string break angle, I'll use the strings-thru-back-of-the bridge solution I'll let you know
B16 comes originaly with aluminum Bigsby compensated bridge on aluminum floating base. The break angle is probably ok, but this bridge will lift the strings much higher then tele bridges, so I think the neck should be angled too if you want low/normal action...
