Default Kingpin CW

Hello all! Does anyone happen to know if the volume and tone pots in a Godin Kingpin CW? It comes with P90's and I am putting in TV Classics with Bigsby B60!

Looking through the F holes I can see that the pots have circuit boards on them. Are these the type that can be switched from 250 to 500?

Hi, each to his own likes I guess but the P90 on my Kingpin sounds pretty good, of course there is only one.

Not me Jeff. No Kingpin. Sounds intriguing, though.

This is not a proper question:

Does anyone happen to know if the volume and tone pots in a Godin Kingpin CW?

Please reword and resubmit.

I'd leave the KingPin as it is and get the new Godin Uptown

Man, is everyone trying to get in on the 5120 craze?

My appologies for the improper question. What I meant to ask: "Are the volume and tone pots 250k or 500k?".

The P90's are ok, but TV's sound much better! I am definitely not happy with the stock setup as I cannot lower the strings (nor the dealer) to my desired playing height without a) the strings touching the bridge pickup and b) having to sand the spacers lower following the contour of the archtop (which would require sticking sand paper to the satin finish on the archtop)

Strummerson: My 5122 sounds great with filtwrtrons, but the build quality lacks! I will never buy another Electromatic, but will most definitely be getting a G6122 1958 next may. I had the chance to try one and the difference between that and the Electromatic is night and day. Surprisingly, my Aria FA80 is quite similar in build quality and bracing to the proline and is definitely worth a look!

This is the right answer i got through an email about jonesing the KingPin.

The Kingpin's P90's are way too high and I cannot, nor the dealer, lower the strings from 0.090 to 0.060 from the frets as the strings touch the forward side of the bridge pickup. I love the feel and have loved all of my Godin's, but with a B60, rolling bridge, and TV jones classics I am sure I can het what I want out of it!

Darn good reason...isn't it???

Ya don't have to sell me on pro-lines w/filters. I sent back a walnut 5120, invested in a T-Rose, and have not looked back. But I really want a hollowbody with P-90s and love the looks of the KPins, hence my question. I can certainly understand anyone just needing filters for their own sake, but I wanted to know whether it was because the Godin P90s aren't good.

The P90's are great, better in fact then the SD P90's on my LG. They are VERY crisp and little hum!

And there's no mod that would allow me to adjust the action if I score one?

They are dog ear P90 covers with a solid spacer (the spacer has the proper arch shape, but is the same depth on the forward and aft side and are therefore crooked.......which is ok for a single coil).

sseing how we have some kingpin owners here, a few questions. I finally got to play one after a year of reading great reviews. I played the single p90 version. according to the store owner, it was set up well, but what I felt was a poorly set up accoustic guitar. there was high strings by the twelve fret, and it just sound poorly through an amp. I am hoping this was a poor example. I wanted the double with the cutaway king pin 2 . Can anyone speak up about these? are they all high action? I thought it was a poor mans 125 tdc

Hi Freddy, my Kingpin 5th ave with a single P90 has nice low action and a very fine sound. Great P90 in my opinion. I do have a Compton bridge on it also and it sounds good both plugged and unplugged. It can't touch my Martin of course acoustic wise but it's a different animal.
Very easy playing and a nice neck.
Great guitar. I have never played the two P90 version so I can't comment on that one.

I think I am just to used to low action like my strat. even my accoustic, a 20 year old takamini has low action accross the board, maybe action is a relative word.
