Hi everyone
Just joined after having a recent epiphany that Gretsch guitars are my favorite to play.
After(during) a major bout of GAS that has brought a bunch of new guitars into my collection, I realized that the Gretsch guitars were the ones I played the most and the ones I look at on ebay and craigslist.
I originally bought a g5120 as they are an affordable introduction to Gretsch guitars. I loved the feel of the guitar and the Bigsby. I replaced the "too dark" sounding Gretschbuckers with TVJones Classics and now the guitar sounds perfect.
Soon after I found a 1998 6122-Jr (Country Gent Jr) on craigslist for $1000. It is in wonderful condition and plays and sounds great.
Gretsch GAS had me pretty good by this point and recently got a 2002 Duo Jet G6128T-1957 on the bay and was able to get it for a good deal. It had never been played and was still like new in the case. The poor bugger has sat unplayed for a decade and never knew it was a guitar.
Right now the Duo Jet is my go-to guitar. I love the sparkly bell like dynasonics on it. I know that the pre-FMIC Gretsches are looked down upon here, but I LOVE both of mine and can find no flaws in them. So if the post-FMIC ones are so much better, I guess I have something to look forward to.
I have been finding myself on this site a lot during my Gretsch GAS research and I figured that I should register and say hello.
Current Guitars:
Fender Squier Stratocaster (MIJ... My first guitar)
Sigma Martin SDM-18 Acoustic
Gibson Les Paul Studio
Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro
Gibson Midtown Custom
Gibson CF-100E (1957)
Gibson Songwriter Deluxe
Gretsch G5120 (TV Jones)
Gretsch G6122-Jr
Gretsch G6128T-1957
Hofner CT5001 Bass
Fender Jazz Bass (MIA)
Epiphone Casino Elitist
I'm running out of space to put these darn things...
I am quite sure that signing up here will not help with my GAS, but at least I will be amongst sympathetic ears.
I will add a pic with my Gretsches (and my cat Chewie).

Hi gabbo, welcome to the forum! Gretsch addiction is incurable, but you know that already, right?

Thanks for the welcome people!
Here is an older picture with some of the others in my herd. I don't know if I have the space to bring them all out for a new group shot. It might make for an interesting thing to try this weekend...
Missing is my newer Hofner Contemporary bass, the Epiphone Casino and the Jazz bass... maybe a few others... Jeez. I need help...

Ok, I guess he can stay. He has more guitars than the British Invasion so you have to kinda of respect the financial commitment. Dang! But he still has to bring the ice cream next month.
Welcome!

Greetings Gabbo
What a nice collection (so far... ) am very envious of the CG Junior. Never understood why Gretsch stopped producing the Junior range. Really love'em
See you around

Welcome, Gabbo. I have a 6122-JR, too, and love it. Glad you found us.
