Default Advice needed

I have a free set up due in the net week or so, but am wondering if anybody has any advice on improving my G5434. I read a lot here about changing the bridge pot etc, though I have to say at the moment the guitar sounds & plays really well.

Single piece compensated bridges are pretty popular with archtop folk, the Compton being the generally preferred flavour on this board.

That said, if it ain't broke.............

Yes, but check the other threads about the upgrades. Looks like the bridge posts on new Pro Jets are too thick for the Compton bridge holes..

By default, But I just ordered from Wayne, mine with 6mm holes and he drilled it out for me, no extra time, and sent it out no delays. Awesome job by Wayne.

Well, you said it sounds and plays well. A good setup will only help that. I thought my G5448T sounded just fine as well. Then the Compton really opened it up. Perfect time to add it, setup time.

Agreed, though a TOM guy myself, I may have to try one of these bridges! I would say do the free setup and ask your tech if he/she has any suggestions for electronic or hardware upgrades. I'm a big fan of 1-meg pots, just cuz I love twang and clarity. Plus, if you change stuff, it's almost always something you can change back with little effort/time/money required. At least if it fits in the factory original spaces, that is.
