Default New 5122DC

Hi, let me introduce myself. I'm a new Gretsch owner, a G5122DC (walnut). I bought it in the USA and it came back with me in the plane last week (double gig-bagged for protection).

I've been after a Gretsch for a while, and decided on the 5122 as it's the nearest I can afford to George Harrison's Country Gent (?). At least it looks the same from a distance

I love the 'one-of-a-kind' type of sound from the Gretsch, the 'uniqueness' of it.

I've several other guitars (mainly Epiphone and Squiers) - my favourite at the moment is a Faith Mercury Parlour with a sweet tone. But that may change by the end of the week if the Gretsch lives up to my expectations. Looking forward to garthering as much info as possible from the experts on here.

Welcome to the G-T, Dave! Hope you like it here - its a very friendly place.

Un-official rule #1 is you have to share pictures of your Gretsch: We live for the pictures!

Glad to read that your new axe made it through an over-seas flight without damage as we've read horror stories in the past. Hope you enjoy it for a long time.

Cheers
-OpenMike
