Let me introduce myself...
Newb here and just wanted to say hi and show what brings me to this forum.
I started playing bass in 62 and stayed real busy until I went to collage, got married, joined the army, raised a couple of kids etc. In 02 I got back into music and have been keeping busy. For a couple of weeks I've been drooling over a G6072 and and finally pulled the trigger and brought her home yesterday.
I've always had a jones for hollowbody basses. Here she is with a couple of cousins.

I bought it new in 65. I was touring the summer in a backup band for a rock/variety show and had a few days at home to catch up on laundry and sleep. I saw it at a local music store and fell in love. I had never heard of Kustom before. Luckily I had just got paid (usually from the gate) so I paid for it in one-dollar bills. At you can see it was made for horizontal use but I stood it vertical most of the time for more stage presence.
It’s a J495RV with JBL-D130’s. I used it for 4 or 5 years until I got out of music.
It was stored for about 30 years and when I set it up it had dirty pots and a hiss. An amp tech that was recommended because of his vintage Kustom work said that he had never seen one built like this. He had the back cover off and showed me the serial number. It was hand written and according to him it was the 193rd one of about 10,000 made.
I play through it at home, but that’s were it stays.
Here’s some pics and pay no attention to the goofy bass player…
