Wish I had my Tennessean back
Years ago I played a 1968 Tennessean in a local Annapolis area band. I loved that guitar. It was the sweetest playing guitar that I ever had. I stored it for safe keeping at my mothers house in Shady Side, Md. until the day that I would pass it on to my son. When that day came I went to retrieve only to find it missing. If that is not bad enough think of the suspects (family members). I keep a watch on different sites looking for a red Tennessean for sale. I am looking for a needle in a haystack! I could recognize the guitar and would buy it if anyone were to come forward. In closing, keep your friends close and your Gretsch closer.

Should be a capital offense to steal a man's Gretsch.

That just sucks! Sorry to hear about that. I have an uncle (I call him my brother's uncle) that used to pawn anything he'd get his hands on for drinkin money. He pawned some of my Dad's old Fenders, a 30-06, and an old banjo.
He doesn't do that anymore.
Sorry to hear that story but welome to G - T!

Ouch! I know how that feels. When I went off to college, my mother remarried and my new stepfather sold all my stuff, including my '62 Gretsch Corvette. She explained that since she had bought it for me, he felt it was his to sell. She offered me the $50 he got for it.
Since he died, she bought me two new guitars, both worth way more than $50.
It's too bad you lost your guitar, but hopefully you can enjoy buying another one. I missed that Corvette, and eventually bought one of the new reissues, and I believe it's better than the original.

Nope, I got that one from my Mom. She is a hard core Arkansas country girl and as tough as they come. She used to say she was 26 years old before she found out that dam Yankee was actually two words. I have a lot of Hillbilly sayings in my vocabulary from her!
