compton bridge installed - WOAH
yeah the compton bridge does not disappoint. It's honestly so crazy, it makes the stock bridge feel like a toy. i was recording stuff i don't know if you can hear the difference from any of it though cause i used my cell phone.
You can feel the raw power when you play the guitar now, it is resonating more. in addition the action and intonation are now perfect. this is a bargain at 60$. (i got the brass one).

Hey, schwank. Great playing, man. The guitar sounds great, too, as does the amp. Welcome to Compton Clan.

I love that tone - jazz with a bit of growl. It sounds great.

Nice touch and tone man. In my experience a Compton does provide incremental tone improvement, but for me the greatest value is what the matching radius does for playability, feel and comfort. Just a great product that delivers exactly as promised.

The disadvantages of a multi-piece bridge far outweigh any benefits. IMHO, it all comes down to transferring string energy to the top as efficiently as possible and a solid bridge does this splendidly.

hi guys, thanks for all the kind words re: my playing.
Marlin the amp i am using is the Blues Junior relic. All the balls of a standard BJ, but I think the speaker is upgraded, and they give it a relic job. awesome amp, grabbed it off a buddy.
teedub and synchro - yes. beyond tone is the matched radius feel/action. i have the thumb screws only up a pinch, the strings are way lower than what i was able to achieve on the old bridge. and the energy transfer thing, you can truly feel the guitar is projecting more, its resonating all over the top. you don't realize that the other bridge is sucking so much vibration away until its gone.

I got a steel Compton. I had the original bridge filed down to a 9.45" radius and that made a big improvement in playability, but then that damn wire retainer started buzzing on my 2cd string. The steel Compton adds sustain and a solid tone improvement, Intonation is great but the G is a tad sharp... this may change with new strings, I am very happy with the Compton. I may try a Callaham since my luthier is so good; he can file the saddles to match the neck radius perectly.
