Austin Texas Gretsch Get Together
I am thinking about hosting a Gretsch meet-up here in Austin. I have access to a bar with a huge dance hall were we could have a meet and greet and maybe a Gretch string slining session. Let me know what ya think.

That sounds like a great idea! Me and the Mrs come to Austin at least a couple times a year, usually twice in the spring and once in the fall.
What band(s) do you play in?. We may have seen you somewhere, or if not, we will certainly check you out some time.

Austin is such a cool weird place! I'd love to head down that way and get out of the tundra....

I think we should do one or the other since both cities are so close and it would pull a larger crowd.
Edit: Never mind. Re read your post JB.

What a couple small bands to play? I might be able to see about the three piece I just joined. Just for fun and to have some background noise.

I'm actually planning on moving to Austin this year, would love to meet other Gretsch owners and besides, I will want to hook up with another band and gig eventually. My last gig with my former band was on new year's Eve,(decided to call it quits as I am moving anyways) I have a long history with that band going back to 1994, so it's gonna be strange to be with another band, but after I am settled in there I want to start playing out again. I've been very fortunate to get the chance to perform with big names over the years,(though mostly on bass, but I play guitar too) even if just a one time thing, it's been a long, strange ride.

So what ever happened with this? And did any of y'all make it out to the Rockabilly Revival Fest this year?

I don't think that anything ever came of it. someone else was asking about having a "get-together" in the Austin/San Antonio area not too many weeks ago.

Okay, who's up for a Gretschtogether next month? I'll run down the logistics, just need a number of Gretsch nuts plus guests so I can figure out how big a space we'll need. So who's up?
