My new guitar came in today. Well worth the 100$ I spent on it. Sounds great. A few cosmetics flaws but hey a gretsch for 100$ it's not bad. I'm pleased but I'm sure they vary

I was in my buddy's shop the other day when a customer picked his up after a light set up job . Nice guitar at a nice price . Customer also said it's great for recording with because it does'nt over-power a microphone like a bigger guitar does. Enjoy your new guitar and have fun ....... P. S. Customer also said he heard the name Jim Dandy before but could'nt place it . I gave him a lesson in 1970's rock and roll. Go Jim Dandy , Goooooo.........

Was playing my Martin last night and just getting in the "groove" and don't you know, my wife decides to retire early. I unplug my Martin and get the Jim Dandy out and am able to keep playing without disturbing her sleep.
It's a sweet little guitar and really sounds and feels good for a low cost parlor type instrument. I bet most folks on this site would find use for one of these mini-Gretsch's.

Hey where did you get your case for the 9510. And how much was it? I'm just not trying to spend as much on a case as I did on the guitar.

I have to admit I had to look him up;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_%22Dandy%22_Mangrum
Same Jim Dandy I presume. I remember the 70's as the decade that style forgot, and the photo on the Wiki site kind of confirms that!
Anyone know any more detail re Jim Dandy, and any Gretsch connection?

datsun- I don't know what the case costs. Sorry. I won my Jim Dandy at the Arizona Gretsch Roundup courtesy of Joe from Gretsch Guitars.
It is a beautiful little case and very well made.

I know I could use something like this; especially after I just had to sell my full body (Gretsch Hawaiian 3100) acoustic.

Thanks desertfox4. I wish I could win something like that. But I'll just have to keep searching.

Besides the singer for Black Oak Arkansas, Jim Dandy was also a popular dog food in the South. Its what my Daddy used to feed his bird dogs.
