Very pretty. I have always wondered how the Gretsch acoustics sound. How would you compare it to a nice Taylor or Martin? I am an acoustic guy first (though I am really loving my Gretsch). Yours definately screams I am a GRETSCH.

Thanks Anakin. I bought it purely on the looks. I wouldn't know how to compare it to a Taylor or Martin, never played either one. My guess is that this one is probably inferior but I like it. I've just tried it plugged in and it is just lovely.
I'm happy with this guitar as I only play at home and don't really need anything in Martin or Taylor range. Having said that, it would be nice.

Congrats! I've been wanting to see one since they were announced. I hope to see one this weekend at the Gretsch Cowtown Roundup.

Thanks DG, it really is pretty. The only issue is how the pick guard is cut. It isn't perfectly lined up with the triangular hole but is not really that visible and it doesn't affect it in any way.

I checked out the Gretsch acoustics after seeing your post. You definately got the best looking one out there. I really like that jumbo cutaway. Great color as well. Congrats again. I might have to drop into a guitar shop and try one of these.

Thanks Darko,
This guitar is available here (in UK) and retails between £335 and £360 without HSC.

Beautiful guitar! As for the pick guard, I agree. I would have never noticed it! So I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe you can get some money back for the defect though? Who knows!

Nope, bought it 2nd hand and got a really good deal on it. I'm happy as pig in muck.
I don't really mind this small fault. It gives it a bit of character.

Beautiful guitar. I wish I could pick one up for my acoustic. I'd hardly call that a fault though. You really can't even notice it.

None of the pickguards on the previous Korean made G5022C or my current G3410 Rancher Junior line up with the triangle sound hole perfectly either. They're just little cosmetic flaws. What's important is that your new guitar sounds and plays well without any issues.
BTW, did you remove the Gretsch sticker from inside the guitar? It appears to me missing in the last 2 photos.

Hi Anni_Lover,
No, I didn't remove the sticker, it is just an angle I took with the camera. The sticker is where it should be and I have no intentions of removing it.
It plays really nice. I was playing with the amp and levers on it, nice sounds.
This one is not Korean, the serial number starts with IS111xxxxx, and Darko (6stings) said it is probably Indonesian, Samick.

Wow! I thought they were going to be made in China. I've got an Indonsesian made Epiphone Dove and it's great.
BTW, isn't it great that the new labels are more like the Professional Series models as opposed to the oler white label on the Electromatics. I know the old white labels with orange Gretsch logo harken back to the vintage guitars, but they are also on all the pre--FMIC era Historic Series.
