My first was a Corvette I bought from a friend when I was 15. When I was away at college my mother remarried and my new stepfather sold or threw away all my stuff, including all my guitars and amplifiers.
Next was a Corvette I picked up in a pawnshop in about 1984. It had no hardware, and someone had routed it out for a humbucker, so I put in a Dimarzio PAF. It sounded quite good, but I had to sell it to pay tuition fees.
Last year I bought my 6120, followed shortly by my new Corvette, and then the Clipper. All three through eBay. Each is my favorite while I'm playing it, and they all excel at different things, but overall, the 6120 is the winner.
I have owned 8 but am down to 6 currently. There will be more,of that i'm sure!
Sold a 78 Super Chet and a 90's Country Classic 1 to get my 57 Gent.
I hate to pick favs, but if i was pushed i'd say my 57 6120 .

Just one.......until now. Jukey's love for Corvette gave me curiosity, but then I got a free Epiphone V and don't want to have too many guitars in this small room. So I switched my plan: ordering TV Jones pickups for the V. But I might get a 'vette someday.
You will NOT be sorry if you get a Corvette! They are a pure pleasure to play.
As for my Gretsch count, right now it's 10. That breaks down to 6 electrics, and 4 acoustics including my Americana models.
Red Electromatic Sparklejet
Silver Electromatic Sparklejet
G5810 Bo Diddley model
G3131 Historic series Hollowbody (pre-FMIC)
G6130KP Knotty Pine Roundup
G5135 Corvette (my newest addition)
acoustics:
G5022C Jumbo Rancher
3 different Americana models
Pics of most can be seen in my profile photo section
Alas, but I have only the one you see on my avatar - my first Gretsch, the G6128-1957. However, I am seriously lusting for a 6122-62. So much so , that my other 7 guitars are looking a little nervous these days. lol

LOL! as they should.. I'm sure the Duo Jet is taunting them when you're not around, too
That's the crummiest thing I've heard in a long time. Ever get that SOaB back?
(my Dad sold my speedbag in ~'83 when I was poking holes in the Pacific. Still bums me out.)
No, he died of a heart attack trying to change a flat tire on a bridge in Florida about 20 years ago.
I wasn't really upset about it at the time. I was too busy with school work to think about playing. My mum offered to give me the money, but since he had sold the Corvette for $35, I told her not to bother.
What bummed me out more, a few years later, was that one of the things he sold was my train set. I would have like to have had it when my daughter was of the age to play with it, but I bought her a cheap one that she played with a while. Now she's given that one to a friend's little boy.

G1413 Synchromatic Jet Club - my first Gretsch Bought for chump change ($125 at a blowout sale in Sept. 2002), I amost didn't buy it, until a friend who was with me, convinced me to try it out. I liked its playability, and sound. It served me well through rough economic times, unitl I foolishly sold it in 2005. The Sychro Jet Club pic isn't of mine (I didn't have a digital camera, when I had the guitar).
G5210 Junior Jet - owned from Aug 2008 till Nov. 2008 (when it was sacrificed as trading material for buying back my old Ric 360 I owned in the 90s). That was a fun, basic guitar, that was great for playing punk-type music. The photo is of me doing dorky "guitar playing in action" poses (and yes, I'm not towh worl's mos photogenic woman ).
G1629 Synchromatic Red Sparkle Jet w/f-hole - bought in Dec, 2008, sold back to the place I bought it from in March 2009 when my Cluster headaches made another appearance, and I needed the money to help pay for the meds. It was bought back by me, 3 weeks ago (yes, I have a bit of a soft spot [courtesy of my old Jet Club] for the lowliest of Gretsches - the Synchromatics). Yes, Tartan I still have it But if push comes to shove, and I need to money to pay off my Country Club that's on layaway, I may still end up selling it. If I keep it, Powertrons are going in it.
G6120SHLTV Brain Setzer Hot Rod - Bought in Feb. 2009 & sold in May 2009. A VERY cool guitar. But, I wanted something with hotter pickups, and the 'Setzer Hot Rod IMO, is too nice of a guitar to mod. So I sold it to Dave's Guitars at the Chicago Guitar Show.
In the works - I used my money from the sale of my 'Setzer Hot Rod, to put a NOS, 2003 G6196 Country Club on Layaway, at Streetsounds NYC. Ever since I tried out a few guitars with Dynasonics in them, I've realized that they are MY kind of Gretsch pickup! Nice and jazzy sounding when I play clean, and nice and rowdy, when the gain gets turned up. I'm seriously looking forward to the Country Club. The Roundup I played sounded good for rock. The G6120DSW I played sounded even better. The soundclips I've heard of the Country Club, I liked even more.
So as of now, 4 Gretsches, one of which I currently own, and a fifth one hopefully within the next 2 weeks.
I had some unanticipated things come up, so it was a no go to sell both the Dano, and the G1629. So, I sold just the Dano, and held on the the Jet for now.
