Default Updated 6119/1962 TN Rose

Finally finished tweaking my 6119/1962 TN Rose (maybe). Here, I have replaced the HiloTrons with TV Jones PowerTrons (gave the bridge Hilo to Jukebox). The stock bar bridge was troublesome intonation-wise, so I replaced it with a fine Synchrosonic bar bridge with the little locking saddles. I really like the hotter output, and of course, better intonation.

You can see the old bar bridge in this shot, plus a nice AC15 Heritage - what a lovely combination of guitar and amp:

Interesting! I think this is the first instance where I've seen someone replace the bar with a Synchrosonic! Goin' against the grain...I like that!

You still have the bar?

Your Tennesean looks great with the mods!! I'm debating putting Powertrons in my 1629 Synchro Jet w/f-hole. They really are good pickups. But that may be a moot point - lately I've been feeling some real hollowbody pain since I sold my Brian Setzer Hot Rod at the Chicago Guitar Show 2 weeks ago. I put $1000 down on a NOS 2003, 6196 Country Club (ever since playing a couple of Dyna equipped Gretsches, I've found my pickup) with Rocky at Streetsounds NYC. So, I'm feeling major GAS for getting the guitar home, and I'm debating unloading my Sparkle Jet, and my Dano for cash, so I can pay off my Country Club this Friday (which is payday), and bring it home. Decisions decisions.

Thank you, araT.

Jukebox, I gave the neck HiLo to a friend in Liverpool (and yes, he's played at the Cavern Club!).

Scott, I thought I'd go retro with the Synchro. Plus, I like the locking adjustable saddles. I still have the bar bridge.

SpaceyBen, the Powertrons are very high output pickups. In fact, I put a PowerTron+ in the bridge. It's a fat hunk-of-a-pickup.

Flynnski, I get some outrageous sound through the VOX, even though it's just a 1x12 Celestion Blue. But, with the various volume and tone pots on the Rose, I can still get that sweet Gretsch sparkle and twang, as well.

Ellengtrgrl, looks like you got a whole lotta stuff going on in your life! I've never been to Streetsounds, and my lawyer daughter lives on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. Must go there on my next visit!
