Default Help me identify this Gretsch!

It's being advertised as a Pro Jet, but it looks like a Duo Jet to me...but the pickups don't match. I know they could have changed the pups, but the bridge doesn't match either.

Is it a Pro Jet? Is it a Duo Jet? Is it in-between?

The picture is not too clear, but the pups look like they might be GFS, with a True Arc bridge. Dynasonics have adjuster screws to alter the height of each pole.

The bridge could be covering the mounting holes for a fixed bridge, which would need to go in order to fit the Bigsby.

Does it play well? Gretsch don't make junk, but people can fiddle about with them to make them better or worse.

K

Has the 4 knobs of the new Pro Jets and Pro Line Jets. But, it does not have the hump block inlays of the new Pro Jets. Does not have the old knob set up of the old Pro-lines. Pups DO look exactly like GFS NY II pups.

The Block inlays look iffy to me... What black jet model have they come with?

I believe it is a Pro-Jet. The pickups look like GFS New York II's single coils and the bridge looks like a Tru-Arc.

I had the same pickups in my old Pro Jet. Great sound, like a Tele on steroids.

I think its an older synchromatic jet from earlly 2000s possibly, if we could see the headstock, we would know forsure I think. Pickups, bridge, bigsby, master vol, all could be mods

thanks for the input everyone.

the inlays were something I noticed as well...the only jet I found with those types of inlays were the George Harrison Duo Jet, but I highly doubt they would change the pups, bigsby and such if it were. they're just blocks and not the thumbnails as found on the new pro jets.

I'm looking at that old thread of the old Pro Jet, and it looks eerily similar...

I think where it's listed at, it's JUST a teensy pricey.
