Hear, Hear, Synchro!
Re; sticky sticky,classifieds.
It's good to know our moderater has noticed this. I've taken to apologising for readvertising my spectra's again, as they were publicly devalued last time. It hurt a little, I'm asking a fair price open to negotiations for guitars that are very rare in the UK, and even had the forum posts quoted to me by a potential buyer, as a form of extreme haggling!
It's not easy to sell these days and unless you're genuinely interested, I think all haggling should be done by PM.
Whinge over.

cowmoo you are so right! There is nothing more discouraging than to have some troll try to ruin a sale that may be a matter of financial life and death! Haters beware, that stuff doesn't fly here!

Thankfully it's not that bad....yet! I had a call from a bloke who'd seen mine for sale elsewhere, tried to tell me it was an electromatic and told me i was overpriced, as he'd (mis)read the forums. I explained that i had to import them and wished him luck finding another.
I think we all have a price in mind, at what we will buy and sell for, if it's not to someones liking, they can stroll on by

I agree with the original post. If I have gone over the line, I apologize. Not sure if I did, but just in case. Rules are good, but its even better when people act accordingly without being told to.

God's teeth Freddy, Not aimed at you in any way shape or form!
I was just relieved that it's not just me that felt a little deflated by trying to sell things, then having them undervalued on the same post.
I know if things are ridiculously priced, a knowing PM could help the seller to shift their gear at the 'right' price, but open debate over someones hopes and dreams wrapped up in a guitar for sale is a bit disrespectful.
You have wished me good luck everytime Freddy, and i appreciate it

Thanks guys. Just trying to keep the peace.
This is as good of a chance as any to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone for helping out, especially when you report spam. The other day I got fourteen notifications about one spammer. I loved it! I banned the spammer, trashed the threads and deleted the emails in that order. The fact that there were fourteen reports really drives home how many people care about our little online community.
Sometimes GetBent or Gretsch-Talk beat me to the punch but between the three of us we manage to keep things running smoothly . . . but a lot of the credit goes to the membership here.

Aside from rules for rules and procedure sake, they help nurture a positive communal tone. Negotiations by nature are somewhat injected with adversarial elements and there always a few for whom that becomes a little too emotionally important. Don't get me wrong. Everybody's entitled to an opinion and it's OK if my feathers get ruffled or my ideas are challenged, but I also appreciate and value the balance, humility, and humanity in this community. Thanks Synchro.

+1 to that. This is a great, fun, informative and wholly pleasant place to hang out online. Many thanks for keeping the boundaries firm but fair synchro, gretsch-talk (IF that is your real name!) and getbent.
Keep up the good work.
Apologies if I missed any moderators.

Thanks fellas. You're making me blush now.
I've never liked rules for the sake of rules and I really try to keep that in mind in regards to the forum. Of course Paul sets the guidelines and he's pretty fair-minded but he also knows what can go wrong from his years of experience in this. I just try to treat people the way I'd want to be treated if I were in their shoes. Sometimes it's necessary to take a firm stance but I don't enjoy doing it. In most cases a PM reminding someone to mind their manners is enough to straighten things out. Occasionally it goes farther than that but it's relatively rare. Usually, when someone is banned they've ignored a bunch of warnings along the way. It's never enjoyable to take that step although banning link spammers doesn't bother me a bit.
Anyhow, thanks to all of you.
