Gretsch Power Jet help!
Looking for some info on Power Jet.
I have heard in the Past about good/bad year on the power Jet.
Please school me on what year to look and not look for when purchasing these used.
Ex: if I went out and bought one from 1990, 2000, 2009, and 2012, are they all made the same way from same factory? QC and overall craftsmanship will be similar?
Thank you very much!!!

I'm new to this, but anything after 2003/2004 is usually very good. From what I've seen, the Gretsch instruments that have been made in the past few years are the best I've ever seen for fit and finish. I've not seen a ton of older guitars, but I've seen a few from the 90's and a select handful from the 70's and I'm convinced that the current crop is the best.

I thought the power jet was a fairly new flavour and has only been available as a japanese build under fender control.
I can tell you mine is 2008 and apart from some questions over whether the wiring should be designed so you can use the master volume, the build us totally first class.

Mine is 2005, Tarada made, it rocks.
Bought it new, took it apart and put it back together, without changing anything.
Don't make me post my vids, please )

What is the weight range for the Duo/Power jet with Bigsby? What is average weight? Can you get these under 7.5 lbs with bigsby or is that difficult???

I think so. Although they look like a Les Paul (generally speaking) they are much lighter as they are heavily chambered. Mine is very light and I can wear it all night on my 56 year old back and it doesn't hurt me in the slightest. Definitely lighter than my American Strats.
