I have been without a gretsch for about a year. Sold my 6122 1962. I didn't love it but I liked it a lot. And I now know that I cannot live by tele alone. I found this for a song and a banjo trade.
Long live that great gretsch sound!!

It's landed!
First thought, heavy. Second, action too low. Third, neck is killer, kinda thick but not too much. Forth, super dark rosewood fb. fifth, neck pickup is pretty dark, bridge is real nice. Sixth, I like the neck, finish is really good, fit is even nicer.
Made some adjustments to the pickup pole pieces, helped a tad.
Does really sound like a gretsch. More like a 335 x tele x gretsch had a baby.
Much nicer in all aspects than any 5xxx Ive played. Other than the pickups and weight, I'd say it's really close to my old 6122-1962. Same neck feel, fret feel.
Tuners aren't bad at all. And I do like the headstock.
Now the pups are way hotter than my tele single coils. It drives my heavily modded epi vj into crunch mode fast. Not much clean with this guitar/amp. Need more watt tube amp to see.
