The first I learned was Rock Around the Clock, but as far as my favorite artist I would have to say it started with Elvis and of course the favorite player would be Setzer

Definately Rock this Town followed by Slow Down, both as "Setzer Style" as I can manage.

"Honey Don't" and "Memphis" don't suck. Attempting "Marie,Marie" by the Blasters presently. "Love Hurts" by Three Bad Jacks is a hoot. Working up the nerve to attempt something by The Rev but I need to buy more Redbull first.

Not sure I've actually learned any rockabilly songs note for note yet :-( A solo here and there, the occasional riff, but I couldn't lay claim to a whole song. Mystery Train is probably my favourite - but the version I'm currently working up is more Jerry Reed than Elvis!
There's a new series, hosted by the great Richard Hawley, starting this Thursday on BBC Radio 2 on rockabilly. Might well be worth listening to.

I think the first one I learned all the way through was Honey Don't.
I still love to play Honey Don't. I am always plucking out Mystery Train, Stray Cat Strut, My Baby Left Me, Folsom Prison Blues...
Favorite Rockabilly Artist? Man... too many to choose from. Scotty Moore is probably #1, Setzer for his just downright mastery of the jazzy changes and embellishments.... I'm kind of an old school guy and don't know enough of the modern guys. I love 'em and poke around with it. Try to listen as much as I can. But, it's tough to find them in the mainstream...

Honey Don't.... learned it off the Beatles '65 LP. As it would be years before an affordable tuner could be found I just tuned the guitar to the record. I was a half step off and learned it all in F.
To this day I find the boogie-woogie riff much more awkward in E than F.

no worries i have gotten similar help from others on here!!
it goes in e and i alternate the bass between the first and third string from the top
and you throw in the pinky on the second fret on the b string at times ..
i could try and make a video of me playing it so you can see how i do it..if that would be helpful to you?
