G7593 with Tone knob instead of master tone switch?
Hi,
I am new to this forum. Just got a used Gretsch White Falcon G7593. Just curious as to why it does not have the master tone switch, but a tone knob?
Thanks

It sounds like a Pre-Fender or early FMIC-transition model. The earlier 7593's (1999 up to late 2003) had tone controls instead of a tone switch.

Thanks for the info...Just check the serial number of my falcon and it states JT03-53xxx. Does it mean its a pre-fender design, but built under Fender? its getting interesting trying to trace the history of this beautiful instrument

Yes-- Although Fender took over manufacturing and distribution in 2003, they continued to manufacture under the older pre-FMIC specs until sometime in late 2004-early 2005. During this time FMIC researched and gradually restored designs throughout the Gretsch line.
