Looking at a used 2004 6120 Nashville with JF serial number. Doesn't seem to be much information on guitars out of this factory. Any issues? Same quality as JT? Any reason to wait on something else? Just trying to cover the bases.

Those were made by the Fujijen Gakki factory. There's also the "JD" variation made by the Dyna Gakki factory. Early on after Fender assumed manufacturing responsibilities, work was contracted to three different makers, the two previously mentioned, and of course, Terada. Ultimately, Terada ended up getting the exclusive contract.
I haven't heard of any QC issues with the Fujijen or the Dyna Gakki-built models, but it's a possibility that they may have mini-pots instead of full-size pots. This is somewhat common in the 2003-2004 transition years.

I had a JF build G6119TR Tennessee Rose with open f-holes. It had a slightly wider neck than spec, measuring 1 3/4 inches at the nut instead of 1 11/16 inches. This made a considerable difference for me in terms of comfort.
If you've played a Terada 6120 and really like the feel of the neck then I would advise playing the Fuji gen Gakki guitar before buying.
My old TR was very well built with very good playing action. The wider neck did just not appeal to me.

I have an Anniversary (6117T) that was made at the Fujijen Gakki factory and it is lighter than any of the other Anniversary models that I have played. It also has a shallower neck angle. It is very responsive and one of my favorite guitars. I haven't played any other models out of that factory but would be curious to hear from any Fujijen Gakki guitar owners out there. -Roy

Tartan, do you know when they stoped making Gretsches at Fujigen Gakki and Dyna Gakki?

I have a JD05xxxxxxx Duo Jet and I saw some JD06xxxxxx too...

Most of the JF and JD production was phased out gradually, with the Jet series being the last made. The latest model JD-made Gretsch I have seen is early 2007. I'm not sure about JF series guitars, but I'm pretty sure that they were phased out earlier than the JD's. By 2008 Terada (JT) had assumed all Pro-line production.

They only QC issue I have ever seen on a modern Gretsch is that sometimes the bigsby does not line up properly, it doesn't bother some but I say if you spend that much they better make sure the bigsby lines up.
