Default Speaking of deals... SSUGR with ~18 hours left on ebay

Only 1000 bucks right now. That's a smoking deal. What a killer looking guitar.

That's a $1300 or $1400 guitar. Bet it goes for between $1600 and $1800.

Non pinned bridge and non TV Jones pickups.

And you can't tell anything about an ebay auction, because the real bidding happens in the last 30 seconds. My sniper is set for 3 seconds.

Still, it looks nice.

They sure do look nice. Gretsch needs more green. And red.

That looks like the one Diggy was trying to sell.

This on is in Akron, Ohio. I think Diggy is in Pittsburgh.

I really like the effect of the green on those SSUGR guitars. More so even than the orange models. In fact, I think the SSLVO is the only "Setzer" guitar, unless it's one of the hot rods. The SSU looks just like my 6120TM.

I agree completely with you, Bonedaddy. I don't associate any of the other models save hot rods and the Phoenix with Setzer.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me of the Phoenix too.

But even with the Phoenix I'm more inclined to think "stripped down Falcon" instead of "Setzer Sig."

If I didn't have $2000+ floating around in amp parts (for projects both complete and for sale, and in progress), I'd be inclined to put in a bid. Might be worth it if it could be bought so cheap.

Just to help your cause there Jeff if that has an 04 serial # it has TVJ's and trestle bracing and the buyer doesn't know what he has. Late 03 is when FMIC started that up for the 04 season!

Winning bid: US $1,363.00

I was spot on with my value statement.

Naw. It's another buzzy neck guitar. See the other threads where we've covered the fact that you have to raise the action (beyond what I have on my other Gretsch's) to get rid of the buzz.

Pro's - green

Con's - buzzy neck, TV Jones (I have 3 with TVJ pickups already), poly finish (my Setzer is Lacquer)

I've gotten much better deals.

I paid less than $1363 for both my RHH and my 1993 Setzer SSL, and both of them are much better guitars.

Hey Jeff, whenever you want to sell the RHH let me know! How about a trade for a 6122-62?!?!?

A TOM bridge would have fixed the buzzy-ness. TV Jones, I don't see those as being a con. (except for the rare, or collector exception, someone who has multiple Jones equipped guitars). Still, a piece in that shape, I think they did well.

Not bloody likely. Mine was played by heat himself (hehehehe or so the guy who sold it to me contends, and he did have a picture with him, Jim Heath, and A guitar that I didn't bother to save).

Bonerdaddy - you didn't read close enough - I noted that I have 3 TVJ equipped Gretsch's already. TOM is a good idea.

Not a bad deal, but not a great deal.

Yes I did. Didn't you read my disclaimer in parentheses?
