Default SSLVO vs SSU

I've decided that my next Gretsch will be an Orange 6120, and I'm staring down these two.

The only difference (other than price) that I detect is that one is nitro and a lighter shade of orange.

Am I missing something here?

I would say that you are right on target. Many threads discuss whether nitro is worth the extra dollars. I think that the SSU has a flame maple top while the SSLVO does not. IMHO the SSLVO is a prettier guitar. I would recommend adding a compton bridge as the adjustomatic rattles and sucks tone. I have a chambered titanium on mine but stainless steel and aluminum have their champions (at 1/3 of the price). Love my SSLVO, never played an SSU.

I do find the vintage orange more pleasing to the eye, but it's not a huge preference.

Like choosing between a beautiful woman and her sister.

I am selling my SSLVO w/compton bridge for $1900 plus shipping. Pics go up tonight. It's a 2004. Plays extremely well. Has a couple of scratches on the back. Other then that its a fantastic guitar.

Default SSLVO vs. SSU

I was lucky enough to score this 2005 SSLVO recently. It's an amazing guitar, I believe the SSU is a much darker orange. The SSLVO looks darker in certain light but generally looks more tangerine like mine. I don't miss flames with this beauty.
