Default Sound Posts for Dummies

OK, I have been bitten by the sound post bug and I think you'll agree that listening to other's sound posts is fun, even inspiring. I may be wrong, but my guess is that most of us would like to post a sound clip, but frankly don't have a clue how to do it.

So, how about some of you experts chiming in and give us a tutorial on how YOU do it. This forum will be a richer experience if we can all take advantage of what the technology has to offer.

We figured out posting picture, right? How tough can sound clips be?

Damn....I thought we were going to get into a big debate about sound posts vs. trestle bracing!!!

Hmmm....haven't posted one, but I assume you'd upload the clip to a website like Soundclick, or some other site that will host soundclips, then use the Insert Link buton.

First, either use the file storage you get with your internet access acct or a me.com acct or a free hosting site.

Second, make your track.

Third, upload your track to your hosting site and discover the url for its location

fourth, create a thread or post here, click the little planet thingy with the link at the bottom, paste the url of your song file in the box, click okay. then the link name will be highlighted in blue.. change that text to whatever you want to call your link... like "my song is here or whatever" click okay, submit your post and you are done! simple!

my .me acct is mounted on my desktop and I can drag songs to my music folder so making the link is trivial for me... I prefer to control my access and I'd rather do some leg work in the beginning so I can automate going forward... but that is just me.
