Default I traded Gibson sustain for Gretsch feedback

A race car driver told me once: You know when you're tearing around a country lane, NEARLY skidding off the curves, gunning it like hell to stay on the road? That's what driving a race car is like ALL THE TIME.

It dawned on me at a gig last night, that's what playing my Gretsch is like. I'm feathering that Master Volume knob ALL NIGHT LONG, just staying on the good side of that razor's edge of whistling. Wheeeee!!!!

Which just goes to show that race cars aren't for everyone. And neither are Gretsch guitars.
But if one is willing to learn how to tame them, it pays off in tone dividends.

One thing I like about Gretsch is that you can get feedback on demand and it's one of the reasons that I love my 6120. But I've never had trouble controlling it.

Neither does a good race car driver!
