And you didn't buy it because it wouldn't fit in your guitar rack?

Hah, I didn't buy it 'cause it's top dollar, I never play anything remotely deserving of a 12 string, and I have 6 bad discs in my back. Sure is a nice looking guitar though, huh?

Yeah, it is really nice, but I'll buy a double neck guitar when I move to the moon.

Interesting....Not a big fan of the double neck but this is the nicest one i've ever seen. Was this a pre-fender model?

The "star" sign on the 12-string neck appears to read "... #2 od 3 made!" (I can't make out the first word.)

Should be, but two big ol' necks, 18 tuners, 4 pickups, and two tailpieces are still heavy. Probably heavier than a typical Les Paul at 10lbs, and I know a Lester after a while hurts my injured back. I ended up selling one and giving my dad my other. I can't play my Lesters anymore.

No idea what year it is. I'm friends with the shop owner, and he knows I'm a Gretsch man, so he pointed it out to me a while back. I was in there today (and bought that 5120 in the other thread), so I figured I'd take a pic for you guys. I can ask if you really wanna know.

That's what it says, #2 of 3 made. I think it says "RARE" at the top. This guy has a ton of cool stuff, like a Rick 600-series 6 string in the cabinet next to it. He had a '62 Annie in there the other day that was beat to DEATH too, but I didn't wanna cough up the dough for something with a repair.

I would have to flip 18 strings over and play it upside down. Glad it's a righty!

I love dealers... they are so full of crap! "2 or 3 made" my arse! It's a listed item in the 2001 catalog, and still in the 2004 catalog. So it's in the professional line for at least 3 years and they only made 3 guitars... c'mon! I've probably seen 5 on Ebay in the past few years. I guess it could have been worse, and they could have claimed it to be a "prototype" (over-used term that really hacks me off!)
