You already have one Filtertron guitar, might I suggest a 6136T LDS?

Although, it quite possibly could be the guitarist that is the cause of the awesomeness and not necessarily the Filtertrons, or said White Falcon.

That extra inch makes a huge difference in tone. I'd still go with the dynas though because you get a vertical logo and awesome inlays.

Sync says you already have a Filtered guitar? What have you got? If that's true, I'd whole heartedly recommend the Dynas.

I've got Filters in a Country Gent and Dynas in a Country Club.

Even though I'm an old rocker, I play the Big Green GreTsch (the Dyna'd Club) the most. In fact it's become my favorite guitar. Those pickups just sing. Both pups, clean, loud with reverb, maybe a little delay...heavenly. And the bridge pup with a little grit is just killer. I love this guitar.

BUT, I'd say it all depends on what you want to play with it most. Very different sounding pickups. And remember, them Dynas are single coils.

My Country Gent (actually this one was made in '05 and dubbed a Country Classic, as Chet had pulled his endorsement for a while), is an outstanding rocker. But the Dynas will both sing AND rock.

The Dynas are more 'blurbally', to me than the Filters. If that was the only guitar you had, the sound is unique...The Filters are more...I'm gettin ready to duck...towards the Gi....Gib...I can't say it...HUMBUCKER sounding side...

You really need to give each a good hard play and listen and then decide.

Shoot, FMINUS, forgot to welcome you here. Didn't realize this was your first post.

How you doin'?

Pretty good I'd guess if you're playing an SSL (would love that very guitar, myself) and now are about to pick up a Falcon.

If you feel froggy, tell us a bit more about yourself. There's even an introductory forum around here somewhere.

And we love to drool over pictures of each others instruments.

What're you plugging these sweet GreTschs into?

Mornin' Sunshine,

Be cool if we could click on an avatar and it'd get bigger. But it gave me a reason to look at your album, though. Very nice! I like both. A lot! But...the Dusenberg listed...wasn't that that real cool looking orange single cut hollow body I drooled over a while back?? If so, where's the picture? Is it this one?

And I don't remember if I've asked you this before...think so...are you plugging into anything besides that VOX?

My 6120 AM and my Country Club are like brothers with a strong resemblance but a few obvious differences. There is a noticable difference in the sound between the two, the Club has a deeper, more authoritative voice. It still has that Great Gretsch Sound, the ability to go from mellow to twangy in a flash, but it's definitely a step closer to a classic archtop sound like an L-5. The next time I play in public (which could be a while) I'll bring it along and glory in the sound.

Welcome FMINUS. Which White Falcon? I've never owned a Filtertron-equipped Falcon but I submit this for your approval:

Nothing beats the vintage white lacquer finish. The regular White Falcons are just so blindingly white, like a blizzard or something! The off-white of the 6136TLDS was a big selling point for me...that and the Dynas and Bigsby of course.

Mine is one of the earliest TLDSs, and it has trestles. I'm thinking they changed over sometime last year to a sound post. So if you can find a used late-'06 or '07 model you should be able to land a trestle braced Falcon with Dynas. They're out there...it just may take a little time to find one that somebody's willing to get rid of(I know I'm not).

A few did. Just depends on the year. I think the second year they were out some had trestle and some had sound posts.
