Default Surface-mounted Bigsby-ish trem from GuitarFetish?

Has anyone ever seen or used one of these?

I can't figure out how it would be attached or how difficult a mod it would be.

I may have to email the GFS guys and try to get some more info.

I have a project or two that this might be perfect for....

You mean this thing? http://store.guitarfetish.com/vistsumowhba.html This is the old Teisc style. It bolts/screws to body. I won't work. They are made for solidbodies. But this will work http://www.freedomguitar.com/product...83774.60.89.27

On a similar note, here is an interesting bisby mounting option for Teles and LP's where you don't screw anything to the body, or mar your guitar in any way. Plus, they claim sonic benefits:

http://stores.shop.ebay.com/ZZGuitarworks__W0QQ_armrsZ1

a FAQ from one of their auctions:

Do I have to drill holes in my guitar to put the EZ-Mount on?

Answer - No!! No holes, no routing, no carving no NOTHING!!

Should I have a guitar tech install it?

Answer - Only if you're not comfortable working on a guitar. The installation is easy enough and should only take about 10 min.

Will this addition increase the value of my guitar?

Answer - Yes, by at least what the EZ-Mount system costs, maybe more! More importantly you're not modifying your guitar with holes that may de-value it!

How can it sound better than a stock mounted Bigsby?

Answer - Well, the stock method of mounting a Bigsby is to attach it to the face of the guitar with screws. The string angle then goes over the bridge, then sharply down - to the Bigsby pulling up on it (dampening) the guitar's sound. When down pressure (bridge) and up pressure (stock Bigsby) meet - the result is loss of volume, sustain and a thinner sound! By using our patent-pending 100% down-force EZ-Mount system all of the string energy is channeled into the guitar with no opposing forces. This creates much greater sustain and tone and a more beautiful acoustic sound! The Bigsby is also much easier to play because of the improved string angle over the bridge.

What happens to the grounded bridge? On stop-tail style bridges sometimes the bridge or tail piece is grounded.

Answer - The EZ-Mount system utilizes this grounding by using the existing screw and bolt holes. Convenientally mounted Bigsbys don't - creating crackle and static noises.

What is dampening??

Answer - When down-force(bridge) meets up-force(stop-bar tailpiece or conventioanlly mounted Bigsby). Volume, tone, sustain and acoustic sound quality are diminished or dampened, by these opposing forces in the guitar body.

Do you sell the EZ-Mount without the Bigsby?

Answer - Yes, beginning April 1st., we will offer our EZ-Mount kits without the Bigsby B-50, for those who already have one. The kit will include all the hardware needed, including a roller bridge for your guitar model. We have decided to provide the kit without the Bigsby because we have had so many requests for it that way!!

Do you make kits for carved top Les Paul Gibsons?

Answer - Yes, when we state EZ-Mount kits for Les Paul "standards", etc., we mean carved top models. Models for SG's and Les Paul Juniors will be for flat top guitars.

Can I do deep bends with the EZ-Mount Bigsby?

Answer - Well - NO! If you want to do heavy metal deep whammy bends you need another style vibrato like the Fender of Floyd Rose style. The Bigsby has limited range but creates a beautiful sound! That's why it's the most sought after!

What's the difference between a B-5 and B-50 Bigsby?

Answer - The B-50 is the import version of the B-5 and we believe it's better made with a better finish. It is also less expensive and therefore a better value!

Will the screws pull out of the EZ-Mount plate?

Answer - No - the EZ-Mount plates are 1/8" thick steel or aluminum and we use stainless steel fasteners - conventionally mounted Bigsbys's have pulled out of the guitar. This will never happen with the EZ-Mount system!

Can I take the EZ-Mount off one guitar and put it on another?

Answer - Yes, as long as it's the same model, ex: Les Paul to Les Paul. There will be no residual damage to the guitar. Remember to always save your original guitar parts!

Is there padding under the Mount plate so it doesn't scratch the guitar's finish?

Answer - Yes, but it isn't needed. Our EZ-Mounts only contact the guitar's body at 3 locations - usually at the screw and bolt holes and are pre-designed to clear the guitar's body everywhere else.

Is there an improvement in string angle over the bridge on Les Paul's - the stock Bigsby causes too steep an angle and hard playing action?

Answer - Yes, the over the bridge string angle is vastly improved. It now more closely matches a jazz guitar with a trapeze style tail piece. And you can hear the improved acoustic sound quality in your guitar. Also, the Bigsby playing action is much easier and smoother!

Default Pitted Bigsby

Just wondered if any one has had the same problem as me?, Took delevery of my new Falcon LTV just a couple of days ago and the Bigsby is pitted underneath the Gold! quite bad actually, black dots, on the arm and the main body. Now the dealer is going to put it right and fit another, but just wondered if these things start to pit in time anyway? has anyone had the same trouble.

I have something similar to that Bowen Handle, called a "Les Trem." I put it on a solidbody Daisy Rock, and it works WONDERFULLY. The smoothest vibrato feel I've ever experienced.

Reverend was including the Les Trem on some of their guitars, for a while. The price shot up just after I got mine...
