Default GAS - Unexpected benefits

When I have GAS for a particular guitar i spend quite a bit of time researching it on the interweb. Especially on You Tube, where I watch reviews as well as just tunes played on the guitar.

I've just realised that each time i do this, I find one tune which sticks with me and i just have to learn to play it. Does anyone else do this?

While researching the Godin 5th Ave Kingpin I found this clip, found myself going back to it regularly and am currently learning it.

before that I was researching the Washburn HB15 and it was this one I had to play.

Yes that Minor Swing solo is a classic. One of the few solos I've ever sat down and learned all the way through- although I've forgotten most of it now!

Same happened to me when researching the Country Club. I got totally hooked on this song, Winter Walking. Listened to it for weeks and managed to get it down up to the break; never did crack the second part.

I'm glad its not just me that gets hooked on random tunes while checking out guitars.

I picked up my Kingpin today and what little i can play of Minor Swing sounds nice on it.
