The Red Button
Somebody posted about these guys on another forum. I listened and was blown away. These guys are like a Beatles/Zombies/Monkees/60's other band. The 12 string Ric helps the vibe as do the harmonies. Anywho thought some of you old geezers might like these guys...

It's nice to hear Maj 7 chords again. I've missed them. Great stuff, thanks for posting this.

I like this one. I'm a big fan of mini skirts, false eyelashes, bangs, and Go-Go dancers. Oh, and old style music videos like you used to see on MTV in the early years, mini movies. Not that there's anything wrong with watching a band stand there and play songs.

OK. Here's a little something different. I've been listening to a different radio station lately (an influence of my 16 yo daughter). So, I heard this new band that really caught my attention - Fitz and the Tantrums. To be sure, this is not a guitar band. At all. Sorry about that. However, they've definitely got a vintage groove, and I downloaded an album of theirs and the whole thing is consistent. Very retro; love those harmonies and keyboard.
and
The more you listen the more it grooves...
PS, yeah, I'll have to check out some more Red Buttons too. That rocks as well.

Very nice on the Red Button. It's what Jimmy's fictional band, he fictionally formed after the fictional Wonders, the Heardsman, would likely have sounded like.

Yes, yes I know (sigh). And their sound is very similar to what Jimmy the charecter in the movie wanted the Wonders to sound like, as well as some of their 'slower' tunes you hear once in awhile in the movie, and in the credits (well the stuff written for the movie). He never liked the direction, the Drummer Guy Patterson took the band in. At the end of the movie, they do a what happened to the charcters. Jimmy, eventually formed the band The Heardsman (a name he was trying to get the Wonders to call themself). So one would postulate that this band, The Heardsman would have gone down that original musical path that Jimmy wanted. THAT path, if it had really happened, I was simply postulating, would have sounded very similar to how The Red Button actually sdid. Clearer?
