Favorite Concerts?
What have been some of tge standout shows you've been too?
Me, last year i saw 'The Eagles' on the 'Long Road out of Eden' tour in Melbourne, Joe Walsh played his ass off that night!
And 2009 i saw 'The Living End' on the 'White Noise' tour. Was a crazy loud show! Being in front row was a bad idea!
Soooo you guys??

This one; Silverchair & Placebo @ Horden Pavillion (Sydney), Aug 14th 1999.
Two of my favourite bands at the time, touring their best albums (especially in the case of Silverchair, Neon Ballroom is still their best work in my opinion). It was also the first time I got to see Placebo live. Both were playing in top form, the sound was surprisingly good, and it was an all-round amazing night. I've seen both bands many times since, and I still love Placebo (Silverchair not so much) but nothing beats that night.
This is going to be a really hard "top gig" to beat for me! I'd need to resurrect quite a few long-dead rockstars (or build a time machine) to get close..

We would be here for a long time if we got into dead rockers we want to see!

Woops, it's been a while since I went to a concert.
I'm hoping to set that straigt on july 12.
The most memorable concerts I've been to:
- Moloko in the Melkweg in Amsterdam (somewhere around 2007 I believe)
- Stones in Strahov Stadium, Prague in 1995 (ok ok, but it was an awesome show )
- Jamirquai in Ahoy, Rotterdam 1996 (that was a low-light; very short show as JK was recovering from an illness, and Ahoy has deplorable acoustics)

I'll spread mine out a bit. Starting with Jefferson Airplane 1969 (a group called Space Opera opened). Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy tour (1974 I think); and Stevie Ray Vaugh opening for the Moody Blues in 1983(?). There have a good many more, but these kind of stand out.

James Brown in 1965. The Beatles in 1964, certainly an unforgettable experience. The Stones in 1969. Two shows, afternoon and evening, by the Faces at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, September, 1971.

Chuck Berry in 1980.
Clash in St. Paul MN in 1982.
Stephane Grapelli in 79 (I was a wide-eyed lad!!!)
The [English Beat], Bow Wow Wow, Jah Wobble and the Invaders of the Heart (83?)
Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Irving Plaza in NY (Oct. 2001)
Ehud Banai (Israeli writer and performer) every time I've seen him throughout the 80s and 90s, most recently in summer 2009.

Way too many but these are some standouts - sorry for longwindedness but remembering this stuff gets me excited!
Paul McCartney - 1989 at Madison Square Garden. Macca's first world tour since the 70s. 4 rows from the stage. Hubba!! Was a poor editorial assitant at the time but HAD to go. Those scalped tickets took a real bite but still cost less than a top-priced legit one two tiers up would now! Seen him 7 times since, the other highlights 2 years ago opening Citi Field ballpark here in NY and in Liverpool at Anfield in 2008.
Arcade Fire - 2010, again at MSG. My love for them knows no bounds and they are *tremendous* live. Am however hoping this show will be eclipsed when they play at Edinburgh Castle in September as I'll be there! Go go go if you have a chance to see them.
Bruce Springsteen - 1981 in Chicago touring behind The River. I wasn't particularly a fan then but that night made me one. Still just as great all these years later...last show was performance of the entire Wild, Innocent & E Street Shuffle album at MSG.
Tom Waits - 2008 in Atlanta. 'Nuff said!! Brilliant and never imagined I would ever actually have a chance to see him perform live - the man's a genius.
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - brilliant album of course but the tour was something else. Every detail of the production was just spot on. And the bonus of some Zep tunes thrown in for good measure! Black Dog and especially Battle of Evermore with Krauss channelling Sandy Denny...whoa!
The Vote For Change "finale" show in Washington, DC 2004: abbreviated (but excellent) sets from John Mellencamp, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Dixie Chicks, R.E.M., Pearl Jam and Springsteen amongst others. Only "meh" was Dave Matthews - I'm not really a fan anyway and the sound for whatever reason was awful!
Last mention (and yes I am completely serious) was Yoko Ono's show last Feb 2010 in Brooklyn for her 77th birthday. Her band included Sean of course and Yuka Honda (Cibo Matto), and guest appearances in the second half of the show by Bette Midler, Paul Simon and his son Harper, Klaus Voorman, Eric Clapton (yes you read right) and Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon. Say what you want about her but she rocks. ROCKS!
@Roosto - wow! To have see the Fabs!! And James Brown "back in the day"!

Maybe for sheer energy, Black Flag at the 7:30 Club in Jacksonville, Fl. This would have been around 1984?
