Those were the days...my friend
Here is a photo taken in 1979 with my band, Country Spice. I'm the stunningly gorgeous one with the maple board Strat. My father in law is decked out with the suit and playing a 77 Super Chet through a Pro Reverb. The bass player, the one with the Hoffner, is my cousin and the hairy bugger on the end playing a Les Paul is my brother in law. That was some fun times. Wish I could go back and do it again. My father in law and my cousin bass player have both passed away. Sure miss'em.

Wedding. My daddy in law played in the style of Merle Travis and sang just like Eddie Arnold. We all sang, traded off leads and stuff. Had some mean harmonies goin on. Most of our music was ol time 50's, 60's and 70's country. I still have our last song list.

Nice picture, that's some of the stuff my band does. We play tomorrow night, it's a benefit for a handicap riding academy.

His son, the hairy bugger on the end still has the Super Chet. I get to see it every now and again. I ended up with the Pro Reverb. My cousin was a tad older than me. Had a bad heart from rhumatic fever as a kid. Wasn't supposed to make it out of his teens but made it to 58. Great musician. My daddy in law played a mean sax too. He was very talented.

Yep, that's what we play with a little Bluegrass on the side some pop stuff like Earth Angel, Dream Angel, Last Kiss, and Poor little Fool. Otherwise it's pretty much all classic country.

Strangely, our two most requested songs were the Varsovienne (put your lil foot) and Elvira. The older crowd had a special dance for "Put Your Little Foot". Fun to watch. The McGill Riding and Roping club just loved us

I'll have to look up "Put your little foot" Never heard of it. Cattle call and Squaws Along the Yukon are the popular ones for us. Then heart Ache by the Numbers and Oklahoma hills.
