Default Classical Guitar Suggestions?

Hey guys and gals,

I'm looking to purchase a nylon string classical tomorrow, and was wondering if you could throw out some names to look for... Im looking for around $800. The frontrunner right now is Godin's La Patrie Concert CW, but that's just because i havent compared it side by side with other gits. Any suggestions?

Get your passport stamped with a visa to Spain, visit Seville, Granada, Madrid or any other town and find out where the flamenco players get their's. But I guess that'll run you a little over-budget.

I haven't played a Godin classical, but I have played several of the Seagull (owned by Godin) folk-style guitars and have always been very impressed with the quality construction, playability and overall sound coming out of them. If I only had Godin to choose from, I imagine I'd be pretty happy.

Other brands that consistently impress me are Takamine, Alvarez and Martin. One brand that has consistently left me UN-impressed (at least with their acoustic lines) is Ibanez - I wouldn't recommend Ibanez to anybody.

Hope my .02 cents help

You could probably have a Manuel Rodriguez model C or D for that amount.

I haven't tried these myself but they seem to review OK and have a good name. These are made in Spain.

A friend lent me his Alhambra 7fc, and I quite like it. I've tried a few classical guitars, but found the neck width uncomfortable. The flamenco guitar has a narrower fingerboard, and slightly lower strings, that I find easier to play.
