Paul Setzer is AMAZING!
I ordered my Electromatic cover stickers a while ago, but I never got to posting up the pictures.
I kind of messed up while applying it (as you can see one of the air bubbles in one of the pictures), but nevertheless, I am beyond satisfied.
I was going to take it off and apply the other one I had, but I'm saving it for when the white pro jet arrives
Here's a couple of pics, and thanks again Paul! You're the man!
If any of you ever want some custom stuff done for your Gretches, Paul is the one to go to!

He really is an amazing artist. And, now with the arrival of the 5420, Paul should be getting a whole new wave of orders for pickguards. Just think how less our guitars would be without the great Paul Setzer pickguards. We are fortunate to have him available to us.

Exactly WHY you would want to cover the Electromatic name is beyond me. Are you trying to fool everyone into thinking you DONT own an Electromatic?
Are you ashamed of the Electromatic?
If so, WHY did you even BUY the thing?

I still have to get around to having Paul make a pickguard for my white Pro-Jet, dubbed the White Pigeon.

It comes down to personal preference. I think the vertical "ELECTROMATIC" is an eye sore... on top of a black headstock with a colored body. Granted, it didn't bother me when I first got it, but after awhile, it got on my nerves. The guitar still sounds amazing and is fun to play.

Do I sense troll? Relax there bud. take a chill pill.
As others said, it's personal preference. I thought it looked "ugly" with that big Electromatic logo going down the headstock. I've had people come up to me and say "nice Gretsch!", and I've told them it's not a full-on Gretsch, it's an Electromatic.
I am in no way ashamed to say it's an electromatic, as a matter of fact I'm proud to own it.
I even upgraded the pickups to Filtertrons. Does that mean to you that I'm trying to make it a Duo Jet? hah.
/rant over.

I dont mind the electromatic logo on my 5125. It looks inlayed at least. Im buying 5422 in white soon and am contemplating getting a white overlay with black lettering and I might have the electro logo done as well.
But on the jet models especially the newer ones with gold non inlay appearance logo I dont dig it.
I dont think the quality of appearance matches the quality of the rest of the guitar

Meh... Its as much as of a "full on" Gretsch as the japanese prolines are, maybe a little more so than a Baldwin era.
But if its not made in Brooklyn, how "full on" is it?
Just mho

I agree - I'm not digging the gold lettering on the newer models. I really like the inlaid look on these older models.
and yes, you're right...it's still a Gretsch, electromatic or not

I bought mine because I liked the guitar, I did not however like the vet strp logo...just looked very out of place with everything else, so I moved and gussied up the logo on my 51xx'es
Paul does do great work, great guy to deal with too!

Paul Setzer is pretty amazing but not anywhere nearly amazing as Brian.

I'd like to see what a pickguard made by Brian Setzer looks like...

Paul Setzer is the best! Here are 2 quirky pickguards he made for my Historics 3140 & 3141:

Paul is amazing. Not only for his craft and talent, but for being a great guy. I had him make some Gretsch window decals and not only did he send me more than I asked for, but included several different examples of Gretsch logos - all within about three or four days. A $30 0rder, but I felt like I got $1000 of value.

Every time I see your Historics I think, "those are the coolest guitars I've ever seen." Congrats and nice work Paul Setzer.
