Interesting that Gretsch is continuing to list the 5120 and 5122. Are they keeping them in the line? Or just giving dealers time to sell them off at regular price?

I'll double Roger that.

Great line up though and well impressed with the new basses which are soooo tempting especially as I need to upgrade from my ancient battered and broken MIJ Jazz knockoff.

The PU surrounds look big in the pics. Do these new models have HB routs?

Thanks, Synchro. Based on the posted specs, it seems like the body & neck of these new models have cosmetic upgrades only. In terms of structural sonic design, they aren't significantly different from the 5120/22. (I did read a user comment that suggests the top arch increases lower down on the body compared with the old series, but I don't know how that would effect sound.) If I didn't already have a 5122, I would buy a 5422. But the pups seem to be the only significant sonic upgrade. Hard to know without playing one though!

I saw one but didn't play it. It looked much the same as a 5120; nice quality and the F hole binding looks great.
