Wow. Just ... wow. I thought the single cut aways were gonna be 2.5" body depth. But they're 2.75". That's awesome. I'm kinda gassing for one of these now. And they have bound f-holes. drool. Only issue I have with them are the black headstocks. I got a G5120, oh well. I love it. That black one looks hot. So does the orange with bound f-hole. And I like the hump block inlays so much better than the thumbnail ones.

I wonder two things. The 5120 pickguard will not be interchangeable? The 5420 orange is the same as the 5120, or a different shade?

No, the new G540/22 pickguards won't be interchangable with the G5120/22 pickguards. The "Gretchbuckers" are larger and so are the cutouts in the pickguard. However, you'll now be able to swap out the Black Top Filter 'Trons for standard ones, Mega 'Trons or whatever TV Jones pickups you want without any fuss - they're all the same size. Also, a old pickguard and gold plated hardware are now available as stock items because of the new white G5422. I think the orange stain is the same though, which is why I might opt for the pale green one. Over on the GDP they're calling it "Buick Green" .

Extra, Extra, I believe that the "spec" for the 5422 body depth is incorrect!

The blacktop Filtertrons use a humbucker style mount so they will not interchange.

TV Filters should pop right on to the mounts. The pups mount to a plate that's in the guitar. That plate then has screws/springs which go to the metal surrounds.

Standard Filtertrons mount to the parallel braces under the top. These Filters use a three-screw arrangement similar to some humbuckers. I would imagine that TV Jones pickups with English mount could be adapted easily but stock HS Filters will not mount in this guitar.

The traditional "wood screw" that goes through the pup housing is a "metal" screw/spring set up on the blacktop Filters. It mounts the pup to a metal plate that inside the body.
That metal plate has two screws/springs on one side, and one on the other.
This allows for pup height to be adjusted with the screws on the pup housing, and the two screws on the one side of of the surround allow for adjustment to keep the blacktops parallel to the strings.
Pretty slick set up, easy to set up quickly, and easy to put in TV's if wanted.

The "Aspen Green" they have listed looks nothing like the shade of green previously posted = Caddy Green.
Wonder why this could be?

Perhaps that Caddy Green is a special edition? With the caddy green and black headstock, that electromatic really looks like a Country Club.

Extra, extra, another spec issue: The fingerboard on the 5422's are rosewood, but they are "ebonized" to look like ebony.
