5422 questions
A couple of quick questions for those of you who have played the new 5422. I'm interested in this model because of the pickups and the 2" thinline design. I'm considering parting with my 5122 to help fund the purchase. But the neck on my 5122 is great for me, not too big and bone straight. (I've played a couple of 5120s that had necks more like baseball bats!) So I'm curious about the neck on the 5422. How would you describe the size and shape? Also, somebody reported that the new tops are thinner than the 5120/22 models. Is that right? Lastly, how's does the weight of the new model compare to the 5122? Thanks!

I don't believe anyone here can answer your questions as the G5422 was played and photographed by members of another forum. Soem of their members are also members here, as I am, but whether or not they held the guitar and played it is another matter all together. Personally I believe the G5422 will have the same or perhaps slimmer neck profile than your current G5122.

Did you know that there's going to be a red G5422?

I can only compare the neck of the 5422 to the Pro Lines. It's a "C" shape, and is about as "chunky" as a 6136T, which is the "chunkiest" of the ProLines that I've been around. Very comfortable to me, but YMMV.
The top is thin, and the guitar is considerably lighter than the ProLines, but has a very "solid" feel to it.
Great player, outstanding build quality.

G5422T, I've never played a 6136T. I'll try to find one in a store to check out. Thanks for the tip. If it's too chunky for me, I'll probably just upgrade the pickups in my 5122.
Anni_Lover, I saw the pics of Joe C. playing a red 5422. Beautiful guitar!
