5120 still got some legs
It appears that Gretsch are not quite ready to kill off the 5120 just yet. Two new limited run production models shortly to be released.

Maybe this is a factor behind the complete absence of info on the new Electromatics in the UK.
dump these in the market first, then bring in the new models.
Nice looking 5120's though

The retailers know nothing of the new models. They can't be pre ordered anywhere in the UK. Do, I won't be holding my breath.
We'll have to make do with the 5120 and 5122 for now

Do my eyes deceive or are those Dynas on that "Baby White Falcon"? The blurb says "dual coil" pickups.

They look just like the DeArmonds on my 5129
On a different note, that deep cherry is gorgeous. And here I am with just plain old red on my guitar.

Love the cherry red, but it's hard to beat a bit of Sparkle!

The Baby Blue isn't quite a 5120, as it has the single coil Dearmonds. 5127 I think.

Yes, that's right, the 5120 was the two-tone blue-

Interesting. That Baby Blue looks like it's fitted with G-Buckers. That's a swap in the wrong direction!

They had Orange, Black and Walnut in the store aswell but the Deep Cherry really grabbed me as soon as I saw it.
That Sparkle is just awesome though. I can see myself with one of those one day in the future

I gotta wonder what the original post brought up. Is this just a European thing? Why go to the trouble? Maybe there was some of that red laying around someone wanted to get rid of, and it's a way to get rid of leftover bodies faster.
I wish manufacturer's websites actually told you something, maybe a little development history or something. All I see under the Gretsch website for 5120 is Black, Orange and Sunburst.
