Default Gig Bag for Corvette?

Anyone have any pics of the Gretsch bag for the 'vette? I can't seem to find any? I'm looking for a quality gig bag...hopefully one that would also hold my laptop so I can make one bag from the office each day.

Every bag I can find seems to be too small for the vette.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

There isn't a 2164 that I know of. That is the bag number.

My Special Jet came with a Guardian gig bag, and it's the best gig bag I've ever seen. It has all kinda storage, even a little slot for pens and business cards inside one of the pockets. And I'm thinking one of the outside pockets would hold a laptop.
I don't have a link but I'm sure a google search would turn 'em up.

While you're thinking about it. Spring has sprung around here which means I will be on my motorcycle all the time. So, I will need a safe manner in which to transport my 5120 around. Does anyone recommend a good quality backpack style bag for a 5120?

thanks!

I have a mono, which is really nice, but costs as much as a HSC. The "Electric Guitar" version will fit your Corvette. I bought the "Acoustic Guitar" version, which fits my 6120RHH, my 6136DL, along with my acoustics.

those are some nice gig bags. I have always prefered a HSC but I could see myself using one of those Mono bags a lot.

thanks for the link, Tricone.

All my gig bags have straps on
them,,, so I guess that would
qualify as a backpack style...

The one I have for my 5120 was
$40.00,,, but the guy cut me a
deal b/c I bought the guitar from
him... (A music shop in Coos Bay,,,
Oregon)... He only charged me $20.00...

It is well padded,,, has a large pocket,,,
and a small pocket,,, for picks and such...

It was made by Tribal Planet... There is
no model number on it...

Sarah, any 16" acoustic gig bag will do. Just make sure it's well padded!

The above-mentioned Mono cases have backpack straps.

Thank you! That helps a lot. The point on the padding is well taken!

I love the looks of the MONO, but looking at the dimensions, It appears it will be about 1/2" too narrow for the Vette...have you been able to fit a Vette in? Perhaps the stats on their site are wrong?

If anyone has a Vette and also has a gig bag. I really wanted to get the Sadowsky PortaBag, it's awesome...but it's also too narrow.

I went with the MONO acoustic case, thinking that not only will it fit my big-bodied Gretsches, it would also fit my acoustics.

Tricone-

The only issue using the MONO (or any) acoustic bag, is the the Vette is so thin, it would just flop everywhere.
I'm liking my vette thus far but 2 issues really bug me...won't stay in tune and finding a bag has taken way too long

Also, did you see they added a Semi-Hollow MONO bag? That will still be too deep for a Vette, but it may be a good solution for others.

Yes, I just was going to suggest the Semi-Hollow, which wasn't available when I purchased mine. My 6120RHH does fine in the acoustic . . it doesn't seem to flop around, mainly because of that "neck strap", which seems to hold the guitar securely.

I really wish MONO cases were a bit wider...even the semi-would be way to thick for something as thin as the Vette. If they made the electric one 1/2 wider it would fit fine...oh well...I may have to skip the idea of a gig bag...although I hate to carry a HSC an effects bag and a laptop bag every day for work

You should give them a call. There's a good chance that your Corvette will fit the electric case. Gauging from experience, it has the capacity to stretch a bit, and just might accommodate your axe. Give them a call with the dimensions, and see what they say.
