Default vinyl headstock decals

I've seen people putting vinyl decals on the headstock of their 5120s to cover the black with the woodgrain look of the old 6120s. They even have the Gretsch logo and the horseshoe or the steer head.
I was going to use a piece of thin wood and just sand the headstock down and put that on, but the vinyl sounds a lot easier and cheaper for my low budget behind!
I was wondering if anyone has heard of this, or even better know where to get one.

Paul Setzer makes them. You can contact him through the members list.

Top notch work.

Top notch work.

Wonder if Paul would have anything to cover up the cheap-looking dry transfer dice I stupidly put on the back of my 5120, and now can't get off?...

Guess I'll contact him and inquire...

Good idea TeleChamp as I do remember someone posting about a black strip they got from him to cover the Electromatic writing on their headstock so guess that might cover up your old problem

Thanks, Nick. I'll definitely check into this with him then. I would love to put something else on the back of my 5120 and Pro Jet headstocks to cover up those atrocious dice...

Love all the mods you did on your 5120, Rockabilly, but yes, I see what you're talking about now with the headstock fix. That vinyl job looks GREAT, but I'm wondering if I can pull that off...

Sure you can! - it really isn't all that hard to do - and if you need advise - I'm only an email away
