Bigsby B6C
Just got a call from fender Australia, saying that this tail piece does not fit the 5120 without significant modification . Pardon my French, but what f&$k does that mean???? Does it mean I might see the edge of a little hole from the old licensed Bigsby? Oh, they cost 300- here in OZ.

Thanks Tony, but I'm after the B6 C not B60.

The footprint of the mounting bracket may be different but I sure wouldn't let that stop me from doing the mod.

Opart, What they mean in layman's terms is that the end-hinge has a different bolt pattern. Filling and re-drilling holes will be required, but the new hinge should still cover the old holes.

just have to fill the holes and re-drill no biggie. New one almost entirely covered up filled holes on my 5122. Original bigsby wasn't centered so I moved this one over a bit as well. the plate is a little crooked on my B6C, so it looks a little off, but dont mind dealing with it for a nice sand cast piece and it works great. Having the extra mounting hole is nice too.
That a sweet deal!

Exactly! I may be trying to save a couple of grand here by buying an Electromatic, but I honestly believe that they're great guitars. Sweet slender neck , fun to play, and when you snoop around and take yer time, pretty damn close to some of the proline when you add the right mods. It doesn't bother me that the 5120 doesn't have binding on the holes. I may even keep my stock pickguard and remove the old paint and do something new. It's in the air, the possibilities are pretty wide with these guitars. I'm doing what I bought it for modding it.
Regards,
Chris

Here's a B6C v-cut Bigsby on my 3161. Not as deep as a 5120, but you can see it covers the holes from the original G-cutout tailpiece. BTW, Darren Riley is a good source for these - great prices, cheap shipping, excellent service! www.darrenriley.com

Do any of you know what will remove the paint from my pick guard without damaging it?
