Default New member, new Double Jet!

Hi, I played this guitar here in London (I'm visiting) two days ago and fell in love. Went back the next day to pick it up. Hadn't even felt the need for another guitar...but this was too good. Once I get the tax back at the airport, it will be just over £310 ($490 US).

Not often that the guitars here are cheaper than the States. Not to mention the gear prices back home in Oz.

Anyway, the guitar is really well set up. There is a tiny bit of pinging from the nut on the g-string. Plus I wish I could swing the bigsby bar a touch higher over the string.

Pickups sounded great in store. I'll post a full review when I get home in a few days.. My first Gretsch!

Hey Sixdemonbag, welcome to the board. I have the same guitar, also one of the new ones and I agree, she's a beauty. Congrats.

Got it from Wunjo's on Denmark St in London. Supposed to be £425. But they misquoted the price the day before at £389...I held them to it. I'll get £74 back on the VAT refund. So just over £310 out of my pocket.

They had 3 goldtops and one black. Plus a second hand goldtop...one of the older models. Played alright. It was about £320. Had a few dings.

Definitely the best shop on Denmark st.

Thanks for all the comments. Seems like a great place here

I love Wunjos. Probably the most helpful guitar shop staff I've encountered.

Ooh lovely! I want one too! But I now have to apply a one-in-one-out policy, mainly due to storage restrictions!

I'm supposed to be in that situation too! Probably getting rid of an Ibanez as-73 semi hollow. Boo.

nice one

i need to stop myself buying new guitars all the time, but these new electromatic jets are really tempting - chambered bodies and blacktop filtertrons, what's not to like?

They are exceptional guitars and a significant improvement from the old ones, although I love my older Pro Jet too.
