Corvette
hello!
well, as many people here, after getting hooked by the gretschy sound, iam considering to buy another one...its an addiction thing...i love my american gibson sg, but my 5120 with tv classics gives me a sound that is really viccious
So, im really interested in a love corvette, with tv jones....but here in brasil, theres not a single one to me to test before buying, so what i would like to know, if possible, from some of the corvette's owners here in the forum is:
what about sustain? the corvette has good sustain all over the fret board?
im a short guy, with little hands, so i wonder if the corvette is confortable for a short person like me....
my 5120 its prefectly tuned all over the fretboard, is the corvette pretty much the same?
well, thats it, thank you for any information!

Hi Guto, and Welcome. Sorry to hear there are no places to try out the corvette of your dreams, but don't feel isolated by that, I live in a place that within a short drive, i can try out all the epiphanies and gibbons i want, but but gretsch's either. I am sure there are people here that will help you the best they can. I recently heard some tunes with a corvette, and liked the possibilities, now i just need to find one to try out, just like you. Small world.

Good luck on your Gretschy quest Guto!
I don't own a Corvette, but I've worked on a couple for clients and I've tried a few out in stores. I hope this is enough to make my opinion valid.
They sustain very well, very similar to an SG, and they are "in tune" all over the neck, as much as an imperfect instrument like a guitar can be, it will be the same as your 5120.
As for playability for someone with small hands, I find the corvette necks great - I'm a girl with small hands so I don't get along well with beefy necks like Les Pauls have (just to give you a scale to things), and I find the Corvette necks very comfortable & playable
Here's a thread with some good sound samples:

Hope this helps!

I have one; sustain is great, intonation is as good as it gets. Great guitar.

I have a Corvette and small hands. Plays great, sustains great, intonates great, FANTASTIC sound, one of my favourite guitars. A simply incredible Gretsch for rock 'n roll and blues. I've played jazz and country on it and it works too. The Mega'tron pickups exclusively used on the Corvette are my favourite Gretsch pickups.

Whew! That was close. For a while there, the sky was yellow and the sun was blue. Dogs were living with cats, and Alice Cooper was a role model.

Hahahaha, sorry to turn your world upside down!
In all honesty, the OP seems pretty set on a Vette and I figured I'd better offer some genuine advice rather than trying to convert him to a Jetaholic, there's a fine line between funny & annoying, and I didn't want to cross it I usually save my pro-line Jet spamming for people who don't know what they want, people who are considering Pro Jets, and regulars who need a gentle shove

Welcome Guto
Another of the Vette's qualities which no one's mentioned here is its balance. None of that SG drooping head problem ! It's a pleasure to have it strapped on, it has a really comfortable feel and it's relatively light weight is appreciated during long gigs and rehearsals. Happy hunting!

True. They balace very well.
I have an Italia Maranello Speedster 1 (yellow, black stripes, single bridge pu). It neck dives like a bugger. It stops at horizontal, doesn't drop to the floor, but still anoys the hell out of me. Great guitar otherwise.
And, that's why my G Love Corvette is my goto guitar
Though, this week, i'll be mostly playing my Rutters sugar pine La cabronita tele that I bought from Tavo. Man, it's a beast if a tele.
