My first tube amp!
I finally tap danced my way to my new tube amp! Its a fender bassman. I don't know what year or anything but its LOUD. nice clean tones.
I'm using a dl4 to get the slapback, I doing know how well that's working for me. I'm thinking about trying to get the roland space echo.
But thank the good Lord I'm out of the solid state business.
I traded my dad for a boomerang effect pedal and another dl4 I had lying around.
Any other suggestions for a good delay pedal?

Woohoo, congrats and WHAT a way to start!
Happy NAD, Gunsage!
My first tuby was a small 10W 10" combo last year.
Got two 12" fenders (bdri, drri) after that, figuring a bassman or anythong over 1x12" was going to blast me to mars.
Tubes are FUN!

Oh yeah. WAY too loud for home, especially if you want it to break up a little. I can barely stand it when its at 3-4, even if there is no one around. Super loud. But good for shows and those nice clean tones.

Nice!
The flight case will also help you build up your lower back and biceps.

That's the important thing right there IMO. If you've got a great foundation sound to work with, you can manipulate it any way you want. It's been said many times, you can dirty up a clean amp, but you can't clean up a dirty amp.

Well put Jack Knife. There are indeed some very particular shades of break-up in certain amps, but I think for the most part, if you have good tone with headroom, there's lots of potential to play with grit, grind, and growl.
