Default Hard case for 5622?

I'm coming close to purchasing a 5622 and wanted to post a couple different topic questions in this Forum. First, is there a Gretsch hard case yet for the newer 5622's? Or, is their a 3rd party one that you guys can recommend? Thanks

I can't recommend one by name, but all I did was take my guitar into a shop and they found a hard case that fit the guitar perfectly. I was glad because I really hate gig bags.

A case for a 335 should work.

TKL is top notch

Gator makes some good cases too with a no questions asked lifetime warranty.

That's a good idea, I don't understand how anyone would not get a case for their guitars.

I had an SKB molded case that I sold along with an Epi Sheraton awhile back. It fit my 5422-12 string just fine. Assuming they are the same shape it should work. I like those cases.

Default G6267

I called Fender/Gretsch, and they suggested the 6267 case for the 5622. Expect it to arrive today

Thank you Henry.

Once it arrives could you post a duple pics and let us know what you think about the fit?

....and welcome in!

Edit: I was just looking over at the Gretsch website. I noticed that down the bottom of the page for the 5622, under Accessories, it lists an Optional Deluxe Hard Shell Case #099-6443-000 which is the 6267 16" 'Thin' Hard Case I was thinking of ordering. Let us know what you think of it. Thanks

Case arrived but guitar does not fit at all. The box says 6267, but the internal measurements are clearly much less than the 16" and 12" bouts described on the product description. A replacement won't arrive for 1-3 months, so I am ordering a 6241 (which at least is half the price).

The case was nice quality. I didn't really like the lining, a grey shag, but that is probably personal. It was about $193 on amazon including tax and didn't really seem worth that price. The 6267 shown on gearhounds looks like it has nicer lining, but I really don't want to pay more than $200 for a case.

Ah, that's a bummer Henry. I hate looking forward to getting something just to find out it's the wrong one. Was it this one on Amazon?

I haven't received the guitar or the case yet, but Patrick at Sweetwater ordered this case for my 5622 TC:
SPC103925 - Gretsch G6241 Hard Shell Case

My main concern is the 1.75" thinness of the 56xx's and that a standard Gretsch Hollow Body hard case may be too roomy (thick) to keep it secure. I was hoping someone with the Gretsch 'Thin' Hollow Body case could verify that it fits the 5622.

We'll see if wrvond's Sweetwater case fits.

That's the one - as you can see, 1-3 months wait.

I also ordered the 6241, from amazon (product link below). Amazon only has one pic, which is similar to the sweetwater 6241 I found (also linked below). The grey shag material looks like the material that came in the alleged 6267 I received. I don't care if it works fine and for $100, it is acceptable - but the 6267 I received was $194 which I though was excessive for that grey shag. The gearhounds (one more link!) one seemed to have a nicer plush burgundy lining by it was $215 all in - both in 6267 and 6241 unless the pics are wrong.

PS, I am an amazon junkie and LOVE their return policies, so I usually shop there even if I have to pay a little more. Saving money is no good if the product doesn't work out and you have to pay for shipping both ways.

Mine won't be here until mid June, but I sent an email to Sweetwater to have them test fit that case with a 562X. As soon as I hear back, I'll post on it.

The invoice from Sweetwater lists the case's retail at $220.00. I don't know what they actually charged me since I bought it, the guitar, a stand, and some other stuff at the same time. Total price was less than the "retail price" of just the guitar...

That's kind of odd that both of those cases from Amazon look similar and have the same dimensions but the 099-6443-000 weigh's 15.2 lbs while the 099-6475-000 weigh's more than twice as much at 38.6 lbs. That GearHounds 6267 model with that burgundy lining looks more like the Gretsch Hard Case that my 6128 came in. All of those models are 8.25" thick, which might just be a standard so maybe it's just the interior stuffing that's thicker on the 'Thin' case model?

That's a good idea. I hope they don't just see if the outside dimensions of the guitar allow it to lay inside the case, but also check to see if the thickness of the interior stuffing is thick enough to hold it in place.

Finally found one that actually lists the 5622 as one of the guitars that will fit a certain case. This one......
