I recently bought a Gretsch G3700 Historical Series with Serial # GP 99102196, all printed on a label with Gretsch in black letters on an orange background. The Gretsch address on the label is P.O. Box 2466, Savannah, Georgia.
Does anyone know when this was manufactured? I can't find the serial number listed anywhere. Also, for the active pickup, what type of battery is used?
Thanks.

I believe they were made in Korea. The Savana ,Georgia was the main office for Gretsch od is I don't remember. Get Otterbean from the members list, I believe he has one and maybe he can help you more . Otherwise Mark(sychro) will be around shortly and he might know. Did you try Googleing Gretsch G3500 ? That might also help ya! BTW Welcome to the G-T!

Its one of the historic series guitars. Made in Korea. I have a 3100. Its nice. - Does the 3500 have a round soundhole or a triangular job?

I'm pretty sure I played one of the G3500s back in 2000 at a Guitar Center.
I'm always on the look out for the Historic series acoustics. They made some really good guitars in that series.

I got a chuckle out of this on E-BAy. One of the historic series G3100s. Guy thinks he has a real winner here. (Well, he does, but I bought mine new for $450. He is way over priced.)
The historic series acoustics were very nice guitars. There were a few lemons too. I want to see a pic of that 3500. That would give me a better idea about which one it was out of that series of guitars. I can't find a pic of one on the web for some reason. I can find the price, just no pic. Retail was around 600. Street price was right at 450. I do know that much.
