Dirtymug666 May 31st, 2012, 06:07 PM Finally, after trying (and failing) to save money, debating on the proper model I need, and putting my priorities in the proper place, a lucky night at the casino gave me no excuse to live without a Nocturne Brain. A Billy Brain with "stang" mini switch in dead red to be specific. Just placed the order yesterday and am waiting for it's arrival like a 5 year old waiting for christmas.

JohnnySlapback May 31st, 2012, 06:59 PM You won't regret that. I got the atomic brain a year or so ago and it is ALWAYS on. It just oozes sweet smooth tone
I am a nocturne-aholic now:)
You are gonna love it
audept May 31st, 2012, 07:11 PM Tavo's pedals are great, but addictive. If you're not careful, it will eventually lead to this:

Haha there is actually a nocturne forum on the nocturne website. I don't know how active it is tho.
As far as being a nocturne-aholic, I think I must have been born with it, as I pretty much want everything Tavo has made. I think the seltzerado is next. I'm not a fuzz guy, but that thing would be amazing when applied apropriately in my songs. But at the same time, all the pedals I use are just the brain (when it comes in) and a boss eq for solo/boosting. So we'll see

Naw - the pedals are optimized for Gretsch guitars. God bless Tavo! I'm so glad he's younger than I am. He's likely to be around for as long as I'm able to play.

Why do you have two of nearly all of em?
6stings June 1st, 2012, 02:52 AM My older son is your age, Dan, so I can't say it's because of the kids, can I?
The Marlin June 1st, 2012, 06:19 AM I used the Atomic Brain most, it's the most usable version. I also have a Billy Brain, and I've used that one pretty much exclusively for the last few months. I't's brilliant, but it sends my Marshall into a stinking rage, super aggressive Marshall tone. Fantastic.
It's great if you're playing a big Fender late at night, you can get that Bassman like breakup at practice levels on a supper clean channel. I wouldn't part with either Brain pedal.
next stop, the Ubangi, and maybe a Setzerado - though I'm fighting with the Fuzz Ray.

freddyfingers June 1st, 2012, 07:50 AM I wish i could get my bassman reissue to play at house levels. Even at 2, which is about where the sound starts to come out, and the brain, i get complaints.

Is it because of the kids or for your kids? I think for would be wayy cooler but I don't think because quite cuts it ;)

Some were for, but most were because:D
Dirtymug666 June 1st, 2012, 03:21 PM Just curious, will I get a tracking # and stuff, or will the brain just appear at my door here in the next couple weeks?

Dirtymug666 July 9th, 2012, 10:11 PM Billy brain arrived today!! Soooo happy with it! Very well worth the wait! The tone coming out of my rig is better than I ever thought possible!!!
fender62custom July 9th, 2012, 10:19 PM Congrats & enjoy!!! Tavo's pedals are very tastefully put together as well...i'm sure it sounds as good as it looks!! cheers!!
Dirtymug666 July 28th, 2012, 09:19 PM Just gave the billy it's first show last night. Couldn't have been more pleased. Guitar ->brain->danecho->eq boost pedal->daddy-O overdrive. We played for an hour at the Free Tulsa music festival to the biggest crowd we've played to this year. I was able to play with out worrying about any flaws in my tone at all, even tho the danecho and daddy o are temporary fixes for what they do, the billy brain has upped the ante for my tone immensely.
Tanks, Tavo, for such an amazing preamp.
Seltzerado (or ubangi) is next on the list!
